  • Product Description
    • Aluminum Oxide on GP material provides high initial and extended cut rate
    • Available with Hook and Loop attachment
    • Best material when low contact pressure and load resisting are required
    • Designed for blending, coating removal, finishing, and light deburring
    • High edge durability and flexibility
    • Most efficient on ferrous materials on both flat and contoured surfaces
The Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Disc combines edge durability and flexibility with high initial and extended cut rate for deburring, blending and cleaning of aluminum or other soft metals.

    Tough Woven Fabric
Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning Discs provide a more compact structure of non-woven fibers than Buff & Blend products. Our GP disk has a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability. This helps extend the life of the disk and allows for extended use on ferrous materials or steel. This material requires very little contact pressure and has the most flexibility available.

    Mixed Materials
Our Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Discs are made of a tough, but flexible nylon mesh that fits contoured surfaces. This mesh is also laced with aluminum oxide abrasive. Aluminum oxide discs are a good match for operators who desire an all-purpose versatility and economy. The mineral cuts fast while blending and deburring and should be used for applications on ferrous metals and composites. Aluminum oxide discs feature a premium grain with higher fracture strength, meaning the mineral will fragment and renew more readily. They are available in grades ranging from Very Fine to Coarse.

    Strong Backing for Better Performance
For the best results, it is recommended that a Standard Abrasives brand holder pad is used. Tests have shown that surface conditioning disks, when used in conjunction with the Standard Abrasives holder pad, have a greater durability and performance rate. These pads also assure that pressure is applied evenly all the way to the edge of the disk. Holder pads for Quick Change Discs are available in 3 attachment styles: TS, TR and TP.

    Standard Abrasives Brand Model

The Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Disc, model 845818, offers reliable performance for surface preparation tasks. This 7 inch MED grade disc is designed to meet professional standards for durability and cutting efficiency.

Its construction combines aluminum oxide abrasive with a tough woven fabric backing, ensuring high initial and extended cut rates. This model is ideal for blending, coating removal, and light deburring on various metals.

    High Initial Cut Rate

Featuring aluminum oxide on GP material, this disc provides a high initial and extended cut rate, making it efficient for fast material removal. The MED grade ensures a balanced cut suitable for many surface conditioning needs.

Its design supports blending and finishing tasks, especially on aluminum and other soft metals, allowing users to achieve smooth, clean surfaces with minimal effort.

    Durable Flexible Backing

The disc includes a woven fabric scrim embedded in nylon, which adds strength and flexibility. This backing supports extended use on ferrous materials and steel, resisting load and pressure during operation.

This flexibility allows the disc to conform to contoured surfaces, improving performance on complex shapes while maintaining edge durability for longer life.

    Hook Loop Attachment Format

This product is available with a Hook and Loop attachment system, simplifying disc changes and improving workflow efficiency. The 7 inch size fits standard holder pads designed for quick disc swaps.

Using the Hook and Loop format with Standard Abrasives holder pads ensures even pressure distribution, enhancing the disc's durability and cutting performance during use.

    Pack Size And Dimensions

The discs come in packs of 10, with 100 discs per case, making them suitable for high-volume or industrial applications. Each disc measures 7 inches in diameter, matching common tool sizes.

This pack size supports consistent supply for ongoing projects, reducing downtime. The MED grade and 7 inch dimension provide versatility across various surface conditioning tasks.
