  • Product Description
    • Aluminum Oxide on GP material provides high initial and extended cut rate
    • Available with Hook and Loop attachment
    • Best material when low contact pressure and load resisting are required
    • Designed for blending, coating removal, finishing, and light deburring
    • High edge durability and flexibility
    • Most efficient on ferrous materials on both flat and contoured surfaces
The Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Disc combines edge durability and flexibility with high initial and extended cut rate for deburring, blending and cleaning of aluminum or other soft metals.

    Tough Woven Fabric
Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning Discs provide a more compact structure of non-woven fibers than Buff & Blend products. Our GP disk has a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability. This helps extend the life of the disk and allows for extended use on ferrous materials or steel. This material requires very little contact pressure and has the most flexibility available.

    Mixed Materials
Our Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Discs are made of a tough, but flexible nylon mesh that fits contoured surfaces. This mesh is also laced with aluminum oxide abrasive. Aluminum oxide discs are a good match for operators who desire an all-purpose versatility and economy. The mineral cuts fast while blending and deburring and should be used for applications on ferrous metals and composites. Aluminum oxide discs feature a premium grain with higher fracture strength, meaning the mineral will fragment and renew more readily. They are available in grades ranging from Very Fine to Coarse.

    Strong Backing for Better Performance
For the best results, it is recommended that a Standard Abrasives brand holder pad is used. Tests have shown that surface conditioning disks, when used in conjunction with the Standard Abrasives holder pad, have a greater durability and performance rate. These pads also assure that pressure is applied evenly all the way to the edge of the disk. Holder pads for Quick Change Discs are available in 3 attachment styles: TS, TR and TP.

    Standard Abrasives Brand Quality

The Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Disc, model 845618, offers reliable performance with its trusted brand backing. This 5 inch MED disc is designed for users who need consistent results in surface conditioning tasks.

Its 10/Pac format and 100 ea/Case packaging ensure you have enough discs for extended projects. The brand's reputation supports durability and efficiency in various applications.

    High Initial Cut Rate

These discs feature aluminum oxide on GP material, providing a high initial and extended cut rate. This means faster material removal and longer-lasting performance during use.

Ideal for blending, coating removal, finishing, and light deburring, the discs maintain effectiveness on both flat and contoured surfaces, especially on ferrous materials.

    Flexible Hook Loop Attachment

The discs come with a hook and loop attachment system, making them easy to mount and replace. This format supports quick changes and secure fitting during work.

Hook and loop backing enhances usability on various surfaces, allowing operators to maintain steady pressure and control while working with the 5 inch MED discs.

    Durable Tough Woven Fabric

The tough woven fabric scrim embedded in the nylon structure adds strength and durability to the discs. This construction extends disc life, especially when working on steel or ferrous materials.

Its flexibility requires low contact pressure, making it suitable for delicate or detailed surface conditioning tasks without sacrificing performance.

    Efficient Pack Size Format

Packaged in 10/Pac with 100 discs per case, this format supports large-scale or ongoing projects. The consistent size of 5 inch MED discs fits many standard holder pads for surface conditioning.

Using the Standard Abrasives holder pad with these discs improves durability and even pressure distribution, enhancing overall performance and lifespan.
