Tough Woven Fabric
Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning Discs provide a more compact structure of non-woven fibers than Buff & Blend products. Our GP disk has a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability. This helps extend the life of the disk and allows for extended use on ferrous materials or steel. This material requires very little contact pressure and has the most flexibility available.Mixed Materials
Our Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Discs are made of a tough, but flexible nylon mesh that fits contoured surfaces. This mesh is also laced with aluminum oxide abrasive. Aluminum oxide discs are a good match for operators who desire an all-purpose versatility and economy. The mineral cuts fast while blending and deburring and should be used for applications on ferrous metals and composites. Aluminum oxide discs feature a premium grain with higher fracture strength, meaning the mineral will fragment and renew more readily. They are available in grades ranging from Very Fine to Coarse.Strong Backing for Better Performance
For the best results, it is recommended that a Standard Abrasives brand holder pad is used. Tests have shown that surface conditioning disks, when used in conjunction with the Standard Abrasives holder pad, have a greater durability and performance rate. These pads also assure that pressure is applied evenly all the way to the edge of the disk. Holder pads for Quick Change Discs are available in 3 attachment styles: TS, TR and TP.Standard Abrasives Brand Model
The Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Disc, model 845418, is designed to deliver reliable performance. This 4-1/2 inch MED disc offers a trusted solution for surface conditioning tasks.
Its design combines durability and flexibility, making it ideal for blending, coating removal, finishing, and light deburring. The model 845418 is part of a 100 discs per case pack, ensuring you have plenty of discs for ongoing projects.
High Initial Cut Rate
Featuring aluminum oxide on GP material, this disc provides a high initial and extended cut rate. This means it cuts quickly and maintains performance over time, saving effort and increasing efficiency.
Its cutting ability is especially effective on ferrous materials, whether working on flat or contoured surfaces. The 4-1/2 inch size fits well for various applications requiring precision and speed.
Hook Loop Attachment Format
The disc comes with a hook and loop attachment system, allowing for quick and easy changes. This format supports efficient workflow and reduces downtime when switching discs.
Using the hook and loop system with the Standard Abrasives holder pad enhances durability and ensures even pressure distribution. This improves the overall performance of the 10-pack discs during use.
Durable Flexible Backing
The backing of this disc is designed for strength and flexibility, supporting extended use under low contact pressure. This backing helps resist load and maintains edge durability throughout the job.
Its medium grade (MED) balance offers versatility for blending and finishing tasks. The backing’s flexibility also makes it suitable for contoured surfaces, improving contact and finish quality.
Pack Size And Dimensions
This product is supplied as a 10-pack, with 100 discs per case, providing a large quantity for continuous use. The 4-1/2 inch diameter is a common size that fits many standard tools and applications.
The pack size and dimensions make it convenient for workshops and industrial settings where frequent disc replacement is needed. The MED grade ensures a good balance of cut and finish for various materials.
