Tough Woven Fabric
Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning Discs provide a more compact structure of non-woven fibers than Buff & Blend products. Our GP disk has a woven fabric (scrim) embedded in the nylon structure to provide additional strength and durability. This helps extend the life of the disk and allows for extended use on ferrous materials or steel. This material requires very little contact pressure and has the most flexibility available.Mixed Materials
Our Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Discs are made of a tough, but flexible nylon mesh that fits contoured surfaces. This mesh is also laced with aluminum oxide abrasive. Aluminum oxide discs are a good match for operators who desire an all-purpose versatility and economy. The mineral cuts fast while blending and deburring and should be used for applications on ferrous metals and composites. Aluminum oxide discs feature a premium grain with higher fracture strength, meaning the mineral will fragment and renew more readily. They are available in grades ranging from Very Fine to Coarse.Strong Backing for Better Performance
For the best results, it is recommended that a Standard Abrasives brand holder pad is used. Tests have shown that surface conditioning disks, when used in conjunction with the Standard Abrasives holder pad, have a greater durability and performance rate. These pads also assure that pressure is applied evenly all the way to the edge of the disk. Holder pads for Quick Change Discs are available in 3 attachment styles: TS, TR and TP.Standard Abrasives Model
The Standard Abrasives Surface Conditioning GP Disc 845417 is designed for reliable performance. This model combines durability and flexibility, making it a trusted choice for various surface conditioning tasks.
Its 4-1/2 inch CRS size fits many common tools, ensuring compatibility and ease of use. The model number 845417 identifies this specific disc in the Standard Abrasives lineup.
High Quality Material
These discs use aluminum oxide on GP material, delivering a high initial and extended cut rate. This makes them effective for blending, coating removal, finishing, and light deburring.
The tough woven fabric embedded in the nylon structure adds strength and durability, allowing the disc to perform well on ferrous materials and steel with minimal contact pressure.
Hook Loop Attachment
The discs come with a hook and loop attachment system, making them easy to mount and replace. This feature supports quick changes during work, improving efficiency.
Using the hook and loop format ensures the disc stays securely in place while working on flat or contoured surfaces, enhancing control and safety.
Pack Size Convenience
This product is sold in a 10 pack, with 100 discs per case, providing ample supply for extended projects or multiple users. The pack size supports cost-effective purchasing.
Having 10 discs per pack means less frequent reordering and consistent availability, which is ideal for busy workshops or production environments.
Versatile Surface Conditioning
The disc is most efficient on ferrous materials, suitable for both flat and contoured surfaces. Its flexibility and high edge durability make it a versatile tool for various metalworking tasks.
Recommended for use with Standard Abrasives holder pads, the disc achieves better performance and even pressure distribution, enhancing its effectiveness in finishing and cleaning jobs.
