Attachment Types: TS, TR, TP
Disc pads or holder pads serve as conduits between abrasive discs and tools; they’re valuable connectors that make for easier and speedier industrial processes. Standard Abrasives Quick Change Holder Pads come with one of three quick change attachment styles. Attachment styles include TS, TR and TP. TS is standard metal-to-metal attachment, TR is a 3M Roloc style nylon threaded male hub, and TP is a snap-on/snap-off nylon fastening hub. The mechanical attachments on the discs and pads enable easy swap out of discs with a speedy quarter turn.Choosing a Mandrel
Our Standard Abrasives Quick Change Holder Pads are available with or without built-in mandrels. Some TS and TR holder pads come with an attached 1/4˝ diameter TA4 mandrel. Others come with an attached TA6 mandrel with a 6 mm diameter. TP disc holders come with TA4 mandrel attachments only. Disc holders are also available without mandrel attachments, so users can select a mandrel of a different length if it is better suited to their project needs. Holders without an attached mandrel have a 1/4-20 female thread that will pair with a 1/4-20 mandrel. Once the mandrel is attached, users can fasten the disc pad to a rotary tool or die grinder.Smooth Running
Quality Standard Abrasives Solutions for Industrial Applications
All holder pads are hard-face pads. In other words, they are flat and even without texture. The smooth face of the holder pad prevents it from causing bumps or extrusions to surface on the abrasive disc.
Different densities signal varying levels of flexibility of the holder pad. Soft density holder pads are more pliable and responsive, so they’re a good fit for finer grade abrasives performing finishing and contouring. Medium grade is good for discs that do general purpose work. Firm density holder pads are more rigid to support coarser abrasives that perform heavy stock removal. Discs and holder pads work together to get the job done.
Altogether, Standard Abrasives Holder Pads allow for quick and easy disc attachment and removal, enhancing productivity and adding an extra level of efficiency and ease to your industrial applications.
The Standard Abrasives brand has supplied quality abrasives to the metalworking industry for over 50 years. Customers rely on our broad offering of high performance products including coated, bonded, and non-woven abrasive lines.Standard Abrasives Model
The Standard Abrasives Quick Change TS Medium Holder Pad 541012 is designed for efficient abrasive disc attachment. This 4 inch pad supports quick changes, making it ideal for multi-step projects where speed matters.
Its medium density balances flexibility and firmness, suitable for general purpose grinding and finishing. The pack includes 5 pads per case, ensuring you have enough for multiple tasks or extended use.
Quick Change Attachment System
This holder pad features the TS quick change attachment type, a metal-to-metal connection that allows fast disc swaps. The easy-on, easy-off system enhances productivity by reducing downtime during abrasive changes.
Besides TS, Standard Abrasives also offers TR and TP attachment types, but this model specifically uses the TS style. This ensures compatibility with TS discs and tools for reliable performance.
Pad Size And Format
The 4 inch diameter of this holder pad fits a wide range of sanding and resin fiber discs. Its smooth, hard-face surface prevents snagging and ensures even finishing without damaging the abrasive disc.
The disc pad’s flat face supports consistent contact with the workpiece, improving the quality of grinding and finishing. This size is common for many industrial and metalworking applications.
Mandrel Options Included
Some pads in this series come with built-in mandrels, but this model can be paired with mandrels of varying lengths. It features a 1/4-20 female thread, allowing attachment to standard 1/4-20 mandrels for flexibility.
Users can select mandrels with 1/4 inch or 6 mm diameters depending on their tool setup. This adaptability helps reach different areas of the workpiece and suits various rotary tools or die grinders.
Medium Density Benefits
The medium density of this holder pad offers a balance between softness and firmness. It’s ideal for general purpose work, providing enough support for coarser abrasives while still allowing some flexibility for finishing.
This density level helps the pad conform slightly to contours without losing stability, making it versatile for many grinding and finishing tasks. It complements the 4 inch size and quick change system well.
