Recommended Applications
The multi-layered Standard Abrasives™ Aluminum Oxide Cartridge Roll exposes new abrasive cutting points throughout the life of the roll. Combining an aggressive cut with durability makes it great for polishing, edge breaking and removal of machine tool marks or flash. Its small size and shape enable it to blend, deburr and polish inside holes and diameters or on irregular surfaces and contours. The cartridge roll has an arbor hole to accommodate a mandrel tool attachment (sold separately). This mandrel attaches to a rotary tool such as a die grinder or drill and comes in different sizes to fit a variety of cartridge roll sizes. Together, the mandrel and cartridge roll enable the user to grind or finish hard-to-reach areas of a workpiece, such as angles and curves. The Aluminum Oxide Cartridge Rolls come in a variety of sizes and grades, so it can be tailored to meet your project needs.Grades range from 36 to 400, producing a spectrum of finishes, from coarse to fine.It is made with aluminum oxide mineral, which cuts sharp and is friable – fragmenting under heat and pressure to reveal sharp cutting edges as it abrades the surface. The straight roll design is cylindrical, which helps it roll over irregular contours.
Benefits of a Multi-Layer Design
The multi-layer, multi-wear design of Standard Abrasives™ Aluminum Oxide Cartridge Roll keeps it cutting sharp and helps it withstand repeated wear. As top layers wear down over time, underlying layers expose fresh mineral, so you get a consistent cut, part after part.Wrapping multiple layers of the abrasive material around into a roll contributes to its sturdiness and durability. A resin bond securely anchors mineral to the cloth backing – also enhancing the abrasive's toughness and strength. The closed-coat construction means mineral grains cover 100 percent of the cloth backing, so you get a smoother, more consistent finish is achieved. Seemingly small, these cartridge rolls conquer big challenges when space gets tight.Standard Abrasives Brand Model
The Standard Abrasives Aluminum Oxide Cartridge Roll, model 713226 CR-ST, offers reliable performance for various metal finishing tasks. This cartridge roll is designed to meet the needs of professionals who require consistent quality and durability.
Its aluminum oxide mineral composition ensures sharp cutting edges, making it ideal for blending, deburring, and polishing ferrous metals. The model CR-ST is recognized for its straight cylindrical shape, which helps reach tight spaces.
Precise Dimensions Included
This cartridge roll measures 3/8 inch by 2 inches by 1/8 inch, providing a compact size that fits well in small or irregular areas. The straight shape allows it to roll smoothly over contours, improving access to hard-to-reach spots.
These dimensions make it perfect for detailed work such as edge breaking and removal of machine tool marks. The size also supports use inside holes and on curved surfaces, enhancing versatility in metal finishing.
Grade Sixty Abrasive Quality
The cartridge roll features a grade 60 abrasive, balancing aggressive cutting with durability. This grade is suitable for fast cutting on irregular contours, helping users achieve efficient material removal without sacrificing finish quality.
Grade 60 is part of a range that meets different project needs, but this specific grade excels in polishing and deburring tasks on ferrous metals. It exposes fresh abrasive points as it wears, maintaining consistent performance.
Multi-Layer Roll Design
The multi-layer, multi-wear design enhances the cartridge roll's longevity by exposing new abrasive layers as the top ones wear down. This ensures a consistent cut throughout the life of the roll, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
Wrapped tightly into a roll, the abrasive material is anchored with a resin bond that increases toughness. This closed-coat construction covers 100 percent of the cloth backing, delivering a smooth and reliable finish every time.
Pack Size And Format
This product comes in a pack of 100 cartridge rolls, making it convenient for bulk use in workshops or industrial settings. The pack size supports continuous work without interruption, ideal for high-volume projects.
The cartridge roll format includes an arbor hole that fits mandrel tool attachments, allowing it to be used with rotary tools like die grinders or drills. This compatibility expands its application to various finishing tasks.
