Product Description
- AVAILABLE IN A RANGE OF GRADES: Choose from Super Fine (SFN), Very Fine (VFN), Medium (MED), and Coarse (CRS) to fit your application needs
- CHOOSE YOUR MINERAL: Discs are available either powered by super-sharp silicon carbide (SiC) that excels in low-pressure and fine finishing applications or made from harder and more durable aluminum oxide (A/O)
- CONFORMABLE NONWOVEN WEB: Springy nonwoven fibers resist loading, conform to irregular or contoured surfaces, and minimize undercutting and gouging
- GREAT FOR LOW-TO-MEDIUM PRESSURE: Built for consistency in blending, cleaning, deburring, finishing, grinding, polishing, radiusing, refining, and surface preparation, depending on the chosen grade
- QUICK AND EASY ATTACHMENT: Convenient 3M Roloc Attachment System allows for fast disc changes
- WORKS ON A RANGE OF METALS: This multipurpose option is great for use on aluminum, mild steel, nickel alloy, stainless steel, and titanium
The open-web fiber runs cool and resists loading while the aluminum oxide abrasives provide a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. Our 3M Roloc attachment system offers quick and easy disc change-out, making the Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc ideal for a range of tasks including blending, deburring, and finishing.
We use aluminum oxide abrasive in Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Discs. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
We developed Scotch-Brite surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping. The fibers are load resistant and keep the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers, which also extends the life of the disc.
3M Roloc TR quick change discs are smaller discs that have a plastic threaded button or screw designed to easily and quickly screw onto a Roloc TR disc pad (sold separately) so that you can conveniently change discs with a simple twist-off, twist-on motion. The Roloc TR system provides a secure attachment even for heavy-duty applications, and the variety of available 3M Roloc discs allows swapping from one application to the next in seconds.
Trusted Scotch-Brite Model
The Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc, model SC-DR, offers reliable performance for surface preparation tasks. This brand is known for durable, nonwoven discs that combine well with the 3M Roloc quick-change system for efficient use.
Designed to clean, finish, blend, and deburr, the SC-DR model supports a variety of applications. Its construction helps preserve irregular or contoured surfaces while maintaining aggressive cutting power.
Coarse Grade Versatility
This product comes in an A/O Coarse grade, ideal for tasks requiring a more aggressive cut. The coarse grade is perfect for blending, cleaning, and deburring on tougher surfaces where faster material removal is needed.
Choosing the coarse grade ensures the disc performs well under low-to-medium pressure, making it suitable for a range of finishing and surface conditioning jobs.
Four Inch Size Benefits
The disc measures 4 inches in diameter, a size that balances reach and control. This dimension is common for many surface conditioning tasks, allowing users to work efficiently on both small and medium-sized areas.
Its 4-inch size fits standard Roloc TR disc pads, making it easy to swap discs quickly without interrupting workflow. This size is versatile enough for various metalworking and finishing applications.
Roloc Attachment System
The 3M Roloc quick-change attachment system simplifies disc changes with a twist-on, twist-off motion. This system supports fast disc swaps, reducing downtime and improving productivity on the job.
Roloc TR discs like this one have a plastic threaded button that securely attaches to the disc pad. This design ensures the disc stays firmly in place during use, even in heavy-duty applications.
Bulk Pack Convenience
This product is sold in a pack of 25 discs per carton and 100 discs per case, making it ideal for frequent users or large projects. Buying in bulk helps maintain a steady supply and reduces the need for frequent reordering.
The pack size supports continuous work without interruption, especially in industrial or professional settings where surface conditioning discs are used regularly.
