Product Description
- AVAILABLE IN A RANGE OF GRADES: Choose from Super Fine (SFN), Very Fine (VFN), Medium (MED), and Coarse (CRS) to fit your application needs
- CHOOSE YOUR MINERAL: Discs are available either powered by super-sharp silicon carbide (SiC) that excels in low-pressure and fine finishing applications or made from harder and more durable aluminum oxide (A/O)
- CONFORMABLE NONWOVEN WEB: Springy nonwoven fibers resist loading, conform to irregular or contoured surfaces, and minimize undercutting and gouging
- GREAT FOR LOW-TO-MEDIUM PRESSURE: Built for consistency in blending, cleaning, deburring, finishing, grinding, polishing, radiusing, refining, and surface preparation, depending on the chosen grade
- QUICK AND EASY ATTACHMENT: Convenient 3M Roloc Attachment System allows for fast disc changes
- WORKS ON A RANGE OF METALS: This multipurpose option is great for use on aluminum, mild steel, nickel alloy, stainless steel, and titanium
The open-web fiber runs cool and resists loading while the aluminum oxide abrasives provide a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. Our 3M Roloc attachment system offers quick and easy disc change-out, making the Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc ideal for a range of tasks including blending, deburring, and finishing.
We use aluminum oxide abrasive in Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Discs. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
We developed Scotch-Brite surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping. The fibers are load resistant and keep the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers, which also extends the life of the disc.
3M Roloc TR quick change discs are smaller discs that have a plastic threaded button or screw designed to easily and quickly screw onto a Roloc TR disc pad (sold separately) so that you can conveniently change discs with a simple twist-off, twist-on motion. The Roloc TR system provides a secure attachment even for heavy-duty applications, and the variety of available 3M Roloc discs allows swapping from one application to the next in seconds.
Trusted Brand And Model
The Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc, SC-DR, offers reliable performance for surface preparation tasks. This model combines the trusted Scotch-Brite brand with the efficient Roloc attachment system for quick changes.
Designed for professionals, the SC-DR disc is built to handle blending, cleaning, and deburring with ease. Its durable construction supports consistent results across various applications.
Coarse Grade For Efficiency
This product comes in an A/O Coarse grade, ideal for aggressive surface conditioning. The coarse grade helps speed up finishing and grinding tasks by providing a high cut rate.
Choosing the coarse grade means you get fast material removal while maintaining control. It’s perfect for low-to-medium pressure work where efficiency matters.
Compact Size And Format
The disc measures 2 inches in diameter, making it suitable for detailed surface work. Its compact size allows for easy handling and access to tight or contoured areas.
Featuring the 3M Roloc quick-change system, this disc attaches securely and can be swapped out quickly. The TR format ensures compatibility with Roloc TR disc pads for convenience.
Durable Backing And Scrim
The disc includes a scrim backing that enhances durability and flexibility. This backing supports the abrasive surface while conforming to irregular shapes without damage.
Scrim backing also helps resist loading and reduces gouging, making the disc last longer during tough surface conditioning jobs. It’s a key feature for consistent performance.
Large Pack Count Convenience
Each carton contains 50 discs, and a full case includes 200 discs, providing ample supply for ongoing projects. This pack size supports cost-effective purchasing and reduces downtime.
Having 200 discs per case ensures you’re well-stocked for multiple jobs or extended use. It’s ideal for workshops and industrial settings needing reliable surface conditioning discs.
