Product Description
- AVAILABLE IN A RANGE OF GRADES: Choose from Super Fine (SFN), Very Fine (VFN), Medium (MED), and Coarse (CRS) to fit your application needs
- CHOOSE YOUR MINERAL: Discs are available either powered by super-sharp silicon carbide (SiC) that excels in low-pressure and fine finishing applications or made from harder and more durable aluminum oxide (A/O)
- CONFORMABLE NONWOVEN WEB: Springy nonwoven fibers resist loading, conform to irregular or contoured surfaces, and minimize undercutting and gouging
- GREAT FOR LOW-TO-MEDIUM PRESSURE: Built for consistency in blending, cleaning, deburring, finishing, grinding, polishing, radiusing, refining, and surface preparation, depending on the chosen grade
- QUICK AND EASY ATTACHMENT: Convenient 3M Roloc Attachment System allows for fast disc changes
- WORKS ON A RANGE OF METALS: This multipurpose option is great for use on aluminum, mild steel, nickel alloy, stainless steel, and titanium
The open-web fiber runs cool and resists loading while the aluminum oxide abrasives provide a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. Our 3M Roloc attachment system offers quick and easy disc change-out, making the Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc ideal for a range of tasks including blending, deburring, and finishing.
We use aluminum oxide abrasive in Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Discs. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
We developed Scotch-Brite surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping. The fibers are load resistant and keep the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers, which also extends the life of the disc.
3M Roloc TR quick change discs are smaller discs that have a plastic threaded button or screw designed to easily and quickly screw onto a Roloc TR disc pad (sold separately) so that you can conveniently change discs with a simple twist-off, twist-on motion. The Roloc TR system provides a secure attachment even for heavy-duty applications, and the variety of available 3M Roloc discs allows swapping from one application to the next in seconds.
Trusted Brand And Model
The Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc, model SC-DR, offers reliable performance for various surface tasks. This brand is known for durable, high-quality abrasive products that professionals trust.
Featuring the 3M Roloc quick-change attachment system, this disc ensures fast and easy changes, saving time on the job. The model SC-DR is designed for consistent results across many applications.
Coarse Grade For Efficiency
This disc comes in an A/O Coarse grade, ideal for aggressive surface conditioning. The coarse grade helps speed up blending, cleaning, and deburring tasks with effective material removal.
Choosing the coarse grade means you get a high cut-rate abrasive that excels in low-to-medium pressure applications. It’s perfect for finishing and surface preparation on metals and other materials.
Compact Size And Format
Measuring 1 inch in diameter, this disc fits into tight spaces and detailed work areas. The small size allows for precise surface conditioning on irregular or contoured surfaces.
The disc uses the 3M Roloc TR format, which includes a threaded button for quick attachment and removal. This format supports fast disc swaps during demanding jobs.
Bulk Pack For Convenience
Available in a pack of 50 discs per carton and 200 discs per case, this product suits high-volume users. Buying in bulk reduces downtime and ensures you always have discs ready for use.
The large pack count is ideal for industrial settings where frequent disc changes are necessary. It also offers cost savings compared to smaller quantities.
Versatile Surface Conditioning
The Scotch-Brite Roloc disc works well on aluminum, mild steel, nickel alloy, stainless steel, and titanium. Its nonwoven web design conforms to surfaces, minimizing gouging and preserving contours.
Combined with the durable aluminum oxide abrasive, this disc delivers consistent finishing, blending, and deburring results. It’s a multipurpose tool for many metalworking tasks.
