Product Description
- AVAILABLE IN A RANGE OF GRADES: Choose from Super Fine (SFN), Very Fine (VFN), Medium (MED), and Coarse (CRS) to fit your application needs
- CHOOSE YOUR MINERAL: Discs are available either powered by super-sharp silicon carbide (SiC) that excels in low-pressure and fine finishing applications or made from harder and more durable aluminum oxide (A/O)
- CONFORMABLE NONWOVEN WEB: Springy nonwoven fibers resist loading, conform to irregular or contoured surfaces, and minimize undercutting and gouging
- GREAT FOR LOW-TO-MEDIUM PRESSURE: Built for consistency in blending, cleaning, deburring, finishing, grinding, polishing, radiusing, refining, and surface preparation, depending on the chosen grade
- QUICK AND EASY ATTACHMENT: Convenient 3M Roloc Attachment System allows for fast disc changes
- WORKS ON A RANGE OF METALS: This multipurpose option is great for use on aluminum, mild steel, nickel alloy, stainless steel, and titanium
The open-web fiber runs cool and resists loading while the aluminum oxide abrasives provide a high cut-rate for consistent finishing. Our 3M Roloc attachment system offers quick and easy disc change-out, making the Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc ideal for a range of tasks including blending, deburring, and finishing.
We use aluminum oxide abrasive in Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Discs. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
We developed Scotch-Brite surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool, reducing the risk of part discoloration and warping. The fibers are load resistant and keep the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers, which also extends the life of the disc.
3M Roloc TR quick change discs are smaller discs that have a plastic threaded button or screw designed to easily and quickly screw onto a Roloc TR disc pad (sold separately) so that you can conveniently change discs with a simple twist-off, twist-on motion. The Roloc TR system provides a secure attachment even for heavy-duty applications, and the variety of available 3M Roloc discs allows swapping from one application to the next in seconds.
Scotch-Brite Roloc Model
The Scotch-Brite Roloc Surface Conditioning Disc, model SC-DM, offers reliable performance for various surface tasks. This brand is known for combining durable nonwoven discs with the efficient 3M Roloc quick-change attachment system.
Designed for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring, the SC-DM model ensures consistent results. Its construction helps preserve irregular or contoured surfaces while supporting aggressive cutting.
Very Fine Grade Benefits
This product features the A/O Very Fine grade, ideal for low-to-medium pressure applications. The very fine grade provides a smooth finish without damaging delicate surfaces.
Users can expect excellent blending, cleaning, and finishing results with this grade. It’s perfect for tasks requiring precision and a refined surface texture.
Three Inch Size
The disc measures 3 inches in diameter, making it suitable for a wide range of tools and applications. This size balances control and coverage for efficient surface conditioning.
Its compact 3-inch size allows for easy handling and access to tight or contoured areas. This dimension supports detailed work on metals and other materials.
Roloc Attachment System
The 3M Roloc Attachment System enables quick and easy disc changes. This feature reduces downtime and increases productivity during surface preparation tasks.
With a simple twist-on, twist-off motion, the Roloc system secures the disc firmly. It’s compatible with various 3M Roloc pads, enhancing versatility across jobs.
Pack Size Convenience
This product is sold in packs of 25 discs per carton and 100 discs per case. Such packaging supports both small-scale and large-scale industrial needs.
Having 25 discs per carton ensures you have enough supply for ongoing projects, while the 100 discs per case option suits bulk purchasing for frequent use.
