Scotch-Brite Roloc Coating Removal Disc features extra coarse silicon carbide abrasive to effectively remove paint and rust from metal surfaces and welds. Together with the conformable, non-woven material, silicon carbide abrasives remove coatings without gouging, undercutting, or damaging the base material, especially on hard surfaces.

The open-web material runs cool and resists loading, keeping the abrasives actively cutting for consistent results over the life of the product. Our Scotch-Brite Roloc Coating Removal Disc provides more surface area than wire brushes. It is also safer as there are no wires to fly loose and the hook and loop backing holds the disc securely in place during use. The 3M Roloc TR quick attachment and removal feature also provides fast and easy disc change-out when performing multi-step finishing processes.

Scotch-Brite Roloc Coating Removal Disc uses silicon carbide abrasive. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are a unique surface conditioning product with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or other synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives into the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.

Our 3M Roloc TR quick change discs are smaller discs that have a plastic threaded button or screw designed to easily and quickly screw onto a 3M Roloc TR disc pad (sold separately) so that operators can conveniently change discs with a simple twist-off, twist-on motion. The Roloc TR system provides a secure attachment even for heavy-duty applications, and the variety of available 3M Roloc discs allows swapping from one application to the next in seconds.

    Brand And Model Details

The Scotch-Brite Roloc Coating Removal Disc, model CR-DR, is designed for effective surface preparation. This product features the trusted Scotch-Brite brand known for quality abrasives.

Its specific model CR-DR ensures you get the right disc for coating removal tasks. The Roloc system allows quick attachment and removal, making it easy to switch discs during work.

    Grade And Abrasive Strength

This disc uses an extra coarse silicon carbide (SiC) abrasive, which aggressively removes coatings like paint and rust. The extra coarse grade is ideal for tough cleaning jobs on metal surfaces.

Silicon carbide abrasives provide a sharp cutting action that outperforms wire brushes. They remove welding scale and discoloration without damaging the base material.

    Dimensions And Size Format

The disc measures 3 inches in diameter, making it suitable for detailed surface prep on smaller areas. Its compact size fits easily on compatible tools for precise work.

With a 3 in x NH format, it fits 3M Roloc TR disc pads using the quick-change threaded button system. This size and format ensure secure attachment during use.

    Attachment System Benefits

The hook and loop attachment system allows fast disc change-out, which is perfect for multi-step finishing processes. This system keeps the disc firmly in place while working.

The 3M Roloc TR quick change feature uses a plastic threaded button for easy twist-on and twist-off. This saves time and effort when swapping discs on the job.

    Pack Count And Usage

This product comes in a pack of 10 discs per carton and 40 discs per case, providing plenty of supply for ongoing projects. The pack size supports both small and large scale operations.

Having 40 discs per case means you can stock up for extended use without frequent reordering. This quantity is ideal for workshops or industrial settings needing consistent performance.
