  • Product Description
    • Load and heat resistant non-woven web provides consistent finishing over the life of the pad
    • Pad conforms to irregular surfaces and gets into corners without losing performance
    • Performs like steel wool grade 00 without shredding, rusting, or splintering
    • Scotch-Brite PRO cuts faster and produces a more consistent finish than conventional non-woven abrasive products
    • Ultra fine finishing action outperforms steel wool for cleaning, blending, prepping and finishing on metal, wood, plastics and composites
Scotch-Brite 7448 Pro Hand Pads combine durability for long life with flexibility for reaching tight areas. These pads can be used in place of steel wool for conditioning metal surfaces and paint prep in less time than conventional non-woven abrasive products. The tightly graded abrasive particles provide a consistent, uniform scratch throughout life of the pad.

Unlike fine steel wool, Scotch-Brite Pro pads will never shred during use, rust after use, or leave fine metal splinters. The durable open-web construction is load resistant, offers long life and consistent abrasive action for cleaning, finishing, and buffing with no need to adjust, turnover, or continue the same project with a new pad. The pad gets into corners and works detailed surfaces without altering the dimensions of the base material. Designed to run cleaner and longer than steel wool, this versatile pad is a useful item for any workshop. You can use the Scotch-Brite 7448 Pro Hand Pad right out of the box by hand, paired with a hand pad block, or run on an in-line sander for faster completion on larger areas.

We filled this grey pad with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

    The Scotch-Brite Pro Advantage
Scotch-Brite Pro is a unique surface conditioning product with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon fibers. Breakthrough fiber coating technology allows Scotch-Brite Pro abrasive products to cut faster and produce a more consistent scratch than competitive Non-woven abrasive products, reducing the time and effort it takes to finish parts. Combining abrasives with the fibers gives you an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.

    Scotch-Brite 7448 Pro

The Scotch-Brite Hand Pad 7448 Pro, PO-HP, is a reliable choice for surface conditioning. This gray pad features silicon carbide ultra fine abrasive, designed to deliver consistent finishing results. The brand’s unique non-woven web resists load and heat, ensuring the pad lasts longer during tough jobs.

Its design allows it to conform to irregular surfaces and reach corners without losing performance. This makes the 6 in x 9 in pad ideal for detailed work, maintaining quality across the entire 20/Carton and 60 ea/Case pack sizes.

    Ultra Fine Grade Benefits

The ultra fine grade of the Scotch-Brite 7448 Pro offers superior finishing action compared to steel wool. It cleans, blends, preps, and finishes metal, wood, plastics, and composites without shredding or rusting. This makes it a safer and cleaner alternative for delicate surfaces.

Filled with silicon carbide abrasive, the pad cuts faster and produces a more consistent finish than conventional non-woven abrasives. This synthetic mineral excels in low-pressure applications like paint prep, providing a smooth, uniform scratch pattern.

    Durable Non-Woven Web

The pad’s non-woven nylon fibers are coated with abrasives, creating a load-resistant open-web structure. This design prevents clogging and maintains abrasive performance throughout the pad’s life. It also eliminates the need to frequently replace or adjust the pad during use.

This durability means the Scotch-Brite 7448 Pro can be used by hand, with a hand pad block, or on an in-line sander for faster work on larger areas. The 6 in x 9 in size fits well for both detailed and broad surface conditioning tasks.

    Consistent Finishing Performance

Scotch-Brite PRO pads deliver a consistent scratch pattern that outperforms steel wool grade 00. They never shred, rust, or leave metal splinters behind, making them safer and cleaner to use. This consistency helps reduce time and effort when finishing parts.

The 7448 Pro model’s gray color and silicon carbide abrasive ensure a reliable finish on various materials. Its performance stays steady from start to finish, supporting efficient cleaning, blending, prepping, and finishing jobs.

    Pack Size And Dimensions
