Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine Hand Pad 7448 combines durability for long life, flexibility for reaching tight areas, and can be used in place of steel wool for conditioning metal surfaces and paint prep. Unlike fine steel wool, Scotch-Brite pads will not shred during use, rust after use, or leave fine metal splinters.

The durable open-web construction of our Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine Hand Pad is load resistant, offers long life and consistent abrasive action for cleaning, finishing, and buffing with no need to adjust, turnover, or continue the same project with a new pad. The pad gets into corners and works detailed surfaces without altering the dimensions of the base material. Designed to run cleaner and longer than steel wool, this versatile pad is a useful item for any workshop. The Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine Hand Pad can be used right out of the box by hand, paired with a hand pad block, or run on an in-line sander for faster completion on larger areas.

This grey pad is filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Our Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven fiber matrix. Combining abrasives and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.

    Trusted Scotch-Brite Model

The Scotch-Brite Hand Pad 7448, also known as 37448 or HP-HP, is a reliable choice for surface conditioning. This model is designed to clean metal, composites, and other materials without changing the base material, ensuring a consistent finish every time.

Its unique non-woven web resists load and heat, providing long-lasting performance. The pad’s durability makes it ideal for workshops needing a dependable hand pad for various tasks.

    Ultra Fine Grade Quality

This hand pad features a silicon carbide ultra fine grade, giving it a sharp abrasive action perfect for paint prep and finishing. The ultra fine grade outperforms steel wool by cleaning, blending, and prepping surfaces without shredding or rusting.

Because it uses silicon carbide, the pad produces a superior finish compared to aluminum oxide, making it a great choice for detailed work on metal, wood, plastics, and composites.

    Convenient Size And Format

Measuring 9 inches by 6 inches, this gray hand pad fits comfortably in hand or on a hand pad block. Its size allows it to conform to irregular surfaces and reach corners without losing effectiveness.

The format comes in packs of three, with 10 packs per case, making it easy to stock up and use for multiple projects or larger jobs without interruption.

    Flexible Use And Performance

The Scotch-Brite 7448 pad works well by hand or with power tools like in-line sanders for faster finishing. Its open-web design runs cooler and resists clogging, maintaining consistent abrasive action throughout its life.

This flexibility means you can use it for detailed hand work or larger surface prep, and it won’t shred, rust, or leave splinters like steel wool, ensuring a cleaner and safer work environment.

    Reliable Pack Count Supply

Each case contains 10 packs, with 3 pads per pack, providing a total of 30 pads. This supply is ideal for workshops or professionals who need a steady stock of hand pads for ongoing projects.

Having multiple packs on hand reduces downtime and ensures you always have the right pad ready for cleaning, blending, prepping, or finishing tasks on various materials.
