Scotch-Brite General Purpose Hand Pad 7447 combines flexibility with effective cutting action and precise hand control to accomplish tough cleaning jobs or produce fine finishing results, use after use. Very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasives cut fast and fine, leaving a smooth, finished surface. Suitable for use on a wide variety of materials and for many different tasks.

The performance of Scotch-Brite General Purpose Hand Pad 7447 is comparable to steel wool grade 1. However, unlike steel wool, our Scotch-Brite pads won't shred during use, rust after use, or create fine metal splinters. The non-woven, open-web material resists loading and can be used dry, with water or solvents, and rinsed clean for reuse. This multipurpose 6 x 9" pad can be used by hand for precise control, with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander to cover large areas.

This maroon hand pad uses aluminum oxide abrasive. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Our Scotch-Brite industrial abrasive products are a unique surface conditioning product with abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon or other synthetic fibers. Combining abrasives into the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.

    Trusted Brand And Model

The Scotch-Brite Hand Pad 7447 is a reliable choice for surface conditioning tasks. This model combines the trusted Scotch-Brite brand with a specific design that ensures consistent performance every time you use it.

Known for its durability and effectiveness, the 7447 model is designed to meet professional standards. Its unique construction supports various cleaning and finishing jobs with precision and ease.

    Very Fine Grade Abrasive

This hand pad features a very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasive, which cleans and finishes surfaces smoothly. The fine grit is ideal for delicate tasks like denibbing and defuzzing, leaving a polished result.

Aluminum oxide is a tough mineral that cuts fast and lasts longer than traditional abrasives. It’s perfect for both woodworking and metalworking, providing a clean finish without damaging the surface.

    Flexible Format Technologies

The 6 inch by 9 inch pad can be folded, stacked, or rolled to fit flat, irregular, or contoured surfaces. This flexibility makes it easy to handle and adapt to different cleaning or conditioning needs.

You can use this pad by hand for precise control, with a hand pad block for even finishing, or on an in-line sander to cover larger areas efficiently. Its format supports multiple applications.

    Durable Pack Size Options

Available in packs of 20 per carton and 60 per case, this product suits both small and large-scale projects. The pack size ensures you have enough pads on hand for ongoing or bulk use.

Having multiple pads in each case means you can replace worn pads quickly without interrupting your workflow. This quantity supports professional environments where consistent supply is key.

    Advanced Format Technologies

The hand pad uses a nonwoven open-web material that resists tearing, shredding, and loading. This design keeps the abrasive cutting efficiently and extends the pad’s useful life.

Unlike steel wool, these pads won’t rust or splinter, making them safer and cleaner to use. The maroon color identifies the very fine grade, helping you select the right pad for your task.
