  • Product Description
    • Conformability allows abrasive to stay in contact with complex-shaped parts in robotic processing
    • Densities and grades ranging from soft and conformable to hard and aggressive offer utility for a wide variety of applications
    • Minimizes heat build-up to lessen impact on heat-sensitive materials
    • Resists smearing for cleaner surfaces and less preparation
    • Tough, layered, unitized construction can operate clockwise or counterclockwise directions
    • Wheel edge can be dressed for effective deburring, finishing and polishing of all metal alloys and many plastics and composites
Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheels feature a soft, conformable consistency that effectively smooths, deburrs and finishes the edges of metal alloys, as well as many plastics and composites. There are a variety of densities and grades starting from a very soft 2 density for applications requiring conformability to a hard, aggressive 8 density for maximum cut and durability.

Consistent Performance on a Variety of Substrates
Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel gives a clean edge without smearing, reducing the need for additional clean up and preparation. Designed for optimal performance on a die grinder, the EXL Unitized Wheel minimizes heat buildup during operation, making it ideal for use on heat sensitive materials.

Our Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel is filled with abrasive minerals to quickly smooth edges of metal, plastic and composites. It is available with aluminum oxide in fine, medium, coarse and extra coarse grades, and silicon carbide in very fine and fine grades.

    Ideal for Robotic Deburring
With a wide range of conformability options and high consistency, long-lasting Scotch-Brite industrial abrasives are a great option for robotic deburring. Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel quickly removes burrs and sharp edges in end-of-arm tooling operations, delivering consistent performance through the full life of the abrasive.

Scotch-Brite offers unique surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into nonwoven nylon fibers. Combining abrasives with the fibers creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results over the life of the product. We chose an open-web material that is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibers.

    Trusted Scotch-Brite Model

The Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel, model XL-UW, is designed for reliable edge finishing and deburring. This 8A Coarse grade wheel offers a balance of aggressive cutting and durability, perfect for tough jobs.

Its unitized construction supports both clockwise and counterclockwise operation, making it versatile for various tools. The XL-UW model maintains consistent performance across different materials.

    Precise Size And Format

This abrasive wheel measures 3 inches by 1/4 inch by 3/8 inch, fitting many standard die grinders and rotary tools. Its compact size allows for detailed work on complex shapes and edges.

The unitized wheel format ensures the abrasive stays intact during use, providing smooth, even finishes. This format also supports dressing the wheel edge for deburring and polishing tasks.

    Wide Grade Variety

The 8A Coarse grade is just one option in a range that includes fine, medium, coarse, and extra coarse aluminum oxide, plus very fine and fine silicon carbide. This variety lets you pick the right cut and finish for your project.

Grades range from soft and conformable to hard and aggressive, so you can handle delicate plastics or tough metal alloys with the same product line. This flexibility helps reduce tool changes and downtime.

    Large Pack Convenience

Each case contains 40 wheels, providing plenty of supply for continuous work or multiple projects. Buying in bulk helps reduce costs and ensures you have the right abrasive ready when needed.

The 40 ea/Case pack size is ideal for industrial or workshop settings where consistent availability is important. It supports efficient workflow without frequent reordering.

    Heat-Safe Surface Finishing

The EXL Unitized Wheel minimizes heat build-up during use, which protects heat-sensitive materials from damage. This feature is crucial when working with plastics and composites that can warp or melt.

Its resistance to smearing means cleaner surfaces and less prep work after finishing. This wheel is especially useful in robotic deburring where consistent, high-quality edges are required.
