  • Product Description
    • Abrasive grades are capable of producing high-luster finishes
    • Conformability adapts to interior contours, providing consistent abrasive action
    • Load resistance helps maintain peak cut-rate throughout the life of the product
    • Specialized abrasive tool for cleaning and polishing inside diameters 2-ply staggered design gets into hard-to-reach areas
Scotch-Brite Cross Buff polishes, cleans, satin finishes, denibs and defuzzes the interior diameters of metal components, such as lifter bores, valve bodies, valve spools, and tubing. Conformability of the nylon web makes this abrasive useful for removing surface oxidation, rust and corrosion on dies and molds prior to coating and polishing.

The 2-ply staggered design gives you consistent results, even in hard-to-reach locations, unique profiles, and interior contours. Our Scotch-Brite Cross Buffs are commonly used in aerospace, automotive and other industrial markets.

The purple cleaning and polishing tool uses an aluminum oxide abrasive capable of producing a high luster finish. Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing use. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Scotch-Brite is a unique surface conditioning product with abrasives incorporated into non-woven fibers. Combining abrasives into the fibers creates an abrasive system that gives you consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.

    Scotch-Brite Cross Buff

The Scotch-Brite Cross Buff, 1-1/2 in x 1/2 in x 2 PLY x 8-32 High Strength, is designed for precision cleaning and polishing. This brand and model offer a reliable solution for finishing interior diameters with consistent quality.

Its unique 2-ply staggered design ensures it reaches hard-to-access areas, making it ideal for detailed work on metal components like lifter bores and valve bodies.

    High Strength Abrasive Grades

The abrasive grades in this Scotch-Brite Cross Buff produce high-luster finishes, enhancing the surface quality of your workpieces. The aluminum oxide abrasive is tough and durable, maintaining sharp cutting edges during use.

This high strength grade is perfect for polishing, cleaning, satin finishing, and removing oxidation or rust from metal parts, ensuring a smooth and refined result.

    Precise Dimensions Included

Measuring 1-1/2 inches by 1/2 inch, this tool fits perfectly for interior diameter applications. The size allows for easy handling and effective abrasion in tight spaces.

These dimensions make it suitable for use on various metal components, including valve spools and tubing, where precise finishing is required.

    Two Ply Staggered Format

The 2 PLY x 8-32 format provides enhanced conformability and load resistance. This staggered design adapts to interior contours, ensuring consistent abrasive action throughout the tool’s life.

It also helps maintain peak cut-rate performance, reducing clogging and extending the tool’s usability in demanding industrial environments.

    Pack Count Convenience

This product comes in a pack of 25 per carton and 100 per case, offering ample supply for industrial or professional use. The pack size supports efficient inventory management and continuous workflow.
