  • Product Description
    • Conformable material blends scratches on irregular surfaces without altering the workpiece
    • Effective for woodworking applications to highlight, paint prep, sealer scuffing and scuffing between coats

    • Provides similar performance as steel wool grade 3 without shredding, rusting, or splintering
    • Universal utility for hand blending and finishing metals, wood and other materials
Scotch-Brite Blending Hand Pad 7446 uses an open, aggressive web for effective hand blending, general purpose cleaning, prep work, and finishing. The conformable material adapts to both flat and irregular contours without significantly altering the dimensions of base material. Unlike steel wool, the Blending Hand Pad won’t shred during use, rust after use, or leave fine metal splinters.

Our Scotch-Brite Blending Hand Pad combines load resistance and uniform wear to provide a consistent cut-rate throughout the life of the pad. The 6 x 9” Blending Hand Pad can be used by hand for precise control, with a hand pad holder for uniform finishing, or on an inline sander to cover larger areas.

This gray pad is filled with silicon carbide abrasive mineral, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Our Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique surface conditioning products with abrasives incorporated into non-woven fiber matrix. Combining abrasives and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the fibers.

    Trusted Brand And Model

The Scotch-Brite Blending Hand Pad 7446 is a reliable choice for surface conditioning. This specific model, HP-HP, is designed to meet professional standards, ensuring consistent quality in every use.

Scotch-Brite is known for durable abrasives, and the 7446 model maintains that reputation with its gray, medium-grade silicon carbide construction. It’s a dependable tool for blending and finishing tasks.

    Medium Grade Abrasive Performance

This hand pad features a SiC Medium grade, which balances cutting power and finish quality. The silicon carbide mineral is sharp and ideal for low-pressure applications like paint preparation and scuffing between coats.

Compared to aluminum oxide, this abrasive breaks down faster but leaves a superior finish. It’s perfect for woodworking and metal finishing where a medium cut is needed without damaging the surface.

    Optimal Size And Format

Measuring 6 inches by 9 inches, this pad offers a convenient size for hand use or with a holder. Its format allows for precise control during blending and finishing, adapting well to both flat and irregular surfaces.

The open, aggressive web design helps maintain consistent cutting and prevents clogging. This size and format make it versatile for various tasks, from detailed hand work to larger surface preparation.

    Reusable Pack Quantity

This product comes in a pack of 20 pads, with 40 pads per case, providing ample supply for ongoing projects. The quantity supports both small workshops and larger operations needing reliable surface conditioning materials.

Having multiple pads on hand ensures you can maintain consistent performance without frequent reordering. The pack size is practical for professionals who require steady availability of quality abrasives.

    Non-Woven Durable Construction

The pad’s non-woven construction combined with abrasive minerals delivers consistent cutting throughout its life. This design prevents shredding, rusting, or splintering, unlike steel wool grade 3 alternatives.

Its conformable material blends scratches on irregular surfaces without altering the workpiece. This makes it a universal tool for hand blending and finishing metals, wood, and other materials efficiently.
