We chose silicon carbide abrasive, which is fast cutting, creates a smoother finish than aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives, and is effective for finishing on hard woods and solid surfaces. Constructed with A-weight, light paper and a pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing, this disc will flex with the backup pad and flow over contours to produce consistent finishes. The adhesive holds the disc securely during use and provides quick and easy change out for multi-step sanding and finishing processes. These discs are suited for rotary and random orbital sanders. Applications include general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling, and prep prior to staining or painting, and bare wood sanding.
Sanding discs cut better and last longer when dust isn't loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.
Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low-pressure applications such as white wood sanding, finishing and paint prep. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
Our 3M Stikit products are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to a backup pad or hand pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 426U offers reliable performance with its well-known brand and model. This product features the 240 A-weight grade, ensuring a balance of durability and flexibility for sanding tasks.
Designed for multi-step finishing processes, the Stikit adhesive provides fast attachment and clean removal. This makes it ideal for professionals who need efficiency and quality in their sanding work.
Precise Size And Format
Each disc measures 5 inches in diameter with an NH arbor hole, fitting most standard sanding tools. The roll format allows for easy dispensing and use in high-production environments.
With the D/F 5 HL die-cut and 500FH backing, these discs maintain consistent shape and performance. This format supports smooth sanding on various surfaces without frequent disc changes.
Effective Grade And Backing
The 240 A-weight paper backing is light and flexible, allowing the disc to conform to contours and backup pads. This flexibility helps produce consistent finishes on wood, metal, and other materials.
Silicon carbide abrasive combined with the A-weight backing offers fast cutting and a smoother finish. This grade is especially suited for fine finishing and prep work before staining or painting.
Convenient Pack Size
This product comes with 125 discs per roll and 6 rolls per case, providing a large supply for extended projects. The bulk packaging reduces downtime and keeps sanding operations efficient.
Having multiple rolls in a case is perfect for workshops or job sites that require frequent disc changes. It ensures you always have the right abrasive ready without interruption.
Open Coat Abrasive Benefits
The open coat construction spaces abrasive grains to reduce clogging and loading during sanding. This design delivers an aggressive cut and maintains disc effectiveness longer than closed coat abrasives.
Anti-load coating further prevents dust buildup, helping the discs last through tough sanding jobs. These features make the discs suitable for sanding wood, metal, plastic, drywall, fiberglass, and ceramic surfaces.
