Our 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I discs consist of tough aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a range of grit values bonded with resin on a heavy F-weight paper backing. They are well suited for stock removal and metal finishing, as well as random orbital sanding on both hardwoods and softwoods. The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I disc resists wear during aggressive sanding, and its open-coat construction helps prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc.
We chose aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I features an open coat that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. In an open coat construction the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust and debris have an outlet rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade. These discs are typically used in woodworking and paint prep applications where loading is a problem.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I is designed for quick and easy sanding jobs. Its Stikit adhesive backing lets you apply and remove discs fast, saving time on every project. This model is well-known for combining convenience with performance.
These discs are perfect for professionals who want reliable results. The 363I model works smoothly with a Stikit backup pad, making it easy to switch discs without fuss. It’s a smart choice for both wood and metal sanding tasks.
Heavy F-Weight Backing
The discs feature a heavy F-weight paper backing, providing the strength needed for tough sanding jobs. This backing supports the aluminum oxide abrasive, ensuring durability during both stock removal and finishing stages.
This sturdy backing helps the discs hold up under pressure, making them ideal for medium stock removal. Whether you’re sanding hardwood or metal, the 6 in x NH size fits well with many standard tools for consistent results.
Open Coat Abrasive Design
These discs use an open coat design that prevents clogging by spacing abrasive grains apart. This feature keeps the disc cutting efficiently, especially when sanding softwoods, paints, or other clog-prone materials.
The open coat construction also delivers a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade. This makes the 60 F-weight discs excellent for woodworking and paint prep where dust buildup can slow progress.
Aluminum Oxide Abrasive Quality
Aluminum oxide is the abrasive mineral used on these discs, chosen for its fast cut rate and long life. It self-fractures during use, exposing fresh edges that keep sanding effective over time.
This abrasive is versatile, working well on both wood and metal surfaces, including ferrous alloys. The resin bond helps resist heat buildup, extending the disc’s lifespan during demanding sanding tasks.
Convenient Roll Format
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I comes in a roll format with 100 discs per roll and 4 rolls per case. This setup eliminates the hassle of peeling liners from individual discs, speeding up your workflow.
Having multiple rolls in one case means you’re stocked for larger projects or frequent use. The roll format is especially handy for workshops needing quick disc changes without interrupting work.
