Our 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I discs consist of tough aluminum oxide abrasive particles in a range of grit values bonded with resin on a heavy F-weight paper backing. They are well suited for stock removal and metal finishing, as well as random orbital sanding on both hardwoods and softwoods. The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I disc resists wear during aggressive sanding, and its open-coat construction helps prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc.
We chose aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I features an open coat that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. In an open coat construction the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust and debris have an outlet rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade. These discs are typically used in woodworking and paint prep applications where loading is a problem.
3M Stikit Model Benefits
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I features a unique adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal. This model is designed to work seamlessly with Stikit backup pads, making sanding tasks more efficient.
Its adhesive system eliminates the need for disc liners, saving time during setup. The 363I model is ideal for professionals who want reliable performance with minimal hassle.
Heavy F-Weight Backing
These discs use a heavy F-weight paper backing that provides durability for both stock removal and finishing. This backing supports the aluminum oxide abrasive for consistent sanding results.
The sturdy backing helps the discs withstand aggressive sanding on wood and metal surfaces, ensuring they last through demanding jobs without tearing or wearing out prematurely.
Five Inch Disc Size
The discs measure 5 inches in diameter, a common size that fits many random orbital and disc sanders. This size offers a good balance between coverage and control during sanding.
With a 5 inch size, these discs are versatile for various woodworking and metalworking applications, making them suitable for both stock removal and finishing tasks.
Open Coat Abrasive Technology
The open coat design prevents clogging by spacing abrasive grains apart, which helps maintain cutting efficiency. This feature extends the life of the disc and improves sanding performance on softwoods and paints.
Open coating also provides a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade, making it perfect for paint prep and woodworking where clogging is a common issue.
Pack Size Convenience
This product comes as 100 discs per roll, with 4 rolls per case, providing a large supply for extended projects. The roll format makes it easy to dispense discs without removing liners individually.
The pack size is ideal for professionals who need a steady supply of abrasive discs, reducing downtime and keeping work moving smoothly with the 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 363I.
