Product Description
- Adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal
- Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
- Convenient disc rolls eliminate the need to remove disc liners from individual discs
- Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
- Strong, C-weight paper backing provides extra durability when compared to lighter weight paper backings
The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is a reliable choice for sanding tasks. This model features a strong adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal, making your workflow smoother.
Designed specifically for use with a 3M Stikit backup pad (sold separately), the 236U model ensures compatibility and convenience. Its design supports efficient sanding and finishing on various surfaces.
Durable C-weight Backing
This product uses a strong, C-weight paper backing that offers extra durability compared to lighter paper backings. This backing helps resist wear during aggressive sanding jobs.
The sturdy backing supports the aluminum oxide mineral abrasive, ensuring the discs hold up well under tough conditions. This makes the roll suitable for extended use without frequent replacements.
Precise 6 Inch Size
The discs come in a 6 inch diameter size with an NH arbor hole, fitting many standard sanding tools. This size is ideal for a variety of sanding and finishing applications.
Having the exact 6 in x NH dimension means you can easily match these discs to your existing equipment, ensuring a secure fit and effective sanding performance every time.
Efficient Roll Format
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is supplied as rolls of 100 discs each, with 4 rolls per case. This roll format eliminates the need to remove liners from individual discs, saving time.
Using rolls instead of pre-cut discs reduces waste and speeds up disc changes. This format is especially useful in busy workshops where efficiency matters.
Reliable P240 Grade Abrasive
The discs feature a P240 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, known for fast cutting and long life. This grade is suitable for sanding paint, primer, softwood, metal, and more.
With a load-resistant coating and open-coat construction, the P240 discs resist clogging and maintain cutting performance. This ensures consistent results across many materials.
