Product Description
- Adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal
- Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
- Convenient disc rolls eliminate the need to remove disc liners from individual discs
- Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
- Strong, C-weight paper backing provides extra durability when compared to lighter weight paper backings
The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is a reliable choice for sanding tasks. This model features a strong adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal, making your workflow smoother.
Designed to work with 3M Stikit backup pads (sold separately), this disc roll ensures you get consistent performance. The model 236U is known for its durability and ease of use in various sanding applications.
Durable C-weight Backing
This product uses a strong, C-weight paper backing that offers extra durability compared to lighter paper options. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, extending the life of each disc.
The 5 inch x NH size fits many standard sanding tools, and the C-weight backing supports tough sanding jobs on different surfaces without tearing or degrading quickly.
Efficient Disc Roll Format
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll comes in a convenient roll format with 100 discs per roll. This eliminates the need to remove liners from individual discs, saving time and reducing waste.
Each case contains 4 rolls, providing a total of 400 discs. This pack size is ideal for professionals who require a steady supply of discs for continuous sanding work.
Reliable P240 Grade Abrasive
The P240 grade offers a fine abrasive suitable for finishing and smoothing surfaces. This grade is effective on paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, composites, and fiberglass.
Using aluminum oxide mineral, the discs cut fast and last longer. This mineral self-fractures to expose fresh edges, maintaining cutting performance throughout use.
Load-Resistant Open Coat
The discs feature a load-resistant coating that prevents clogging during sanding. This helps maintain cutting efficiency, especially when working with softwoods and paints.
The open-coat construction spaces abrasive grains apart, allowing dust to escape. This design maximizes cut rate and extends the useful life of each disc in the roll.
