The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is designed for quick and easy sanding tasks. This model features an adhesive backing that lets you attach discs rapidly to a 3M Stikit backup pad, saving time during projects.
Its adhesive system also allows for clean removal, which means you can switch discs without leaving residue. This makes the 236U model a reliable choice for professionals who need efficiency and convenience.
Durable P150 C-weight Backing
This product uses a strong, C-weight paper backing that stands up to aggressive sanding better than lighter papers. The P150 grade ensures a medium level of abrasiveness suitable for many finishing jobs.
With this backing, the discs resist wear and tear, extending their life. The P150 grade is ideal for smoothing surfaces like paint, primer, and softwood, providing consistent results.
Convenient 5 Inch Size
The discs come in a 5 inch diameter, a common size that fits many standard sanders. This size balances control and coverage, making it versatile for various sanding and finishing tasks.
Using 5 inch discs allows for easy handling and efficient sanding on surfaces like metal, plastic, and composites. This dimension is well-suited for both handheld and stationary sanders.
Efficient Roll Format
These discs are supplied in a roll format with 100 discs per roll, eliminating the hassle of peeling liners from individual discs. This format speeds up your workflow and reduces waste.
Each case includes 4 rolls, totaling 400 discs, which is ideal for high-volume sanding jobs. The roll format also helps keep discs organized and ready to use at any time.
Versatile Use Applications
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is suitable for sanding and finishing on many surfaces, including paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, composites, and fiberglass. This versatility makes it a practical choice for various projects.
Its aluminum oxide mineral cuts fast and lasts long, while the load-resistant coating prevents clogging. This ensures consistent performance across different materials and applications.
