Product Description
- Adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal
- Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
- Convenient disc rolls eliminate the need to remove disc liners from individual discs
- Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
- Strong, C-weight paper backing provides extra durability when compared to lighter weight paper backings
The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is designed for professionals who need reliable sanding discs. This model features a strong adhesive backing that makes application quick and removal easy, saving time on the job.
Its compatibility with 3M Stikit backup pads ensures a secure fit during use. The P120 C-weight grade offers a balance of durability and cutting performance for various surfaces.
Durable C-weight Backing
The discs use a strong C-weight paper backing, which is more durable than lighter paper options. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, extending the life of each disc.
This durability makes the 6 inch x NH size discs suitable for tough sanding tasks. The backing supports the aluminum oxide mineral, ensuring consistent performance across multiple uses.
Efficient Adhesive Disc Roll
The roll format includes 100 discs per roll and 4 rolls per case, providing a large supply for continuous work. This eliminates the hassle of removing liners from individual discs, speeding up the sanding process.
Having discs on a roll also reduces waste and keeps your workspace organized. The die 600Z format ensures each disc fits perfectly on compatible tools.
Fast Cutting Aluminum Oxide
Aluminum oxide mineral is known for its fast cutting ability and long life. It self-fractures to expose fresh edges, maintaining sharpness longer than natural abrasives.
This mineral works well on many surfaces including paint, primer, metal, plastic, and composites. It’s ideal for both woodworking and metalworking applications.
Load-Resistant Open Coat
The discs feature a load-resistant coating that prevents clogging from softwoods and paints. This keeps the abrasive surface cutting effectively for longer periods.
Open-coat construction spaces abrasive grains to allow dust to escape, maximizing cut rate and disc life. This design helps maintain consistent sanding results.
