Product Description
- Adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal
- Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
- Convenient disc rolls eliminate the need to remove disc liners from individual discs
- Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
- Strong, C-weight paper backing provides extra durability when compared to lighter weight paper backings
The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is designed for professionals who need reliable sanding discs. This model features a P100 C-weight grade, ensuring a strong abrasive surface that handles tough sanding jobs efficiently.
With its adhesive backing, the 236U disc rolls stick quickly and remove easily, making them perfect for fast-paced work environments. This backing also helps the discs attach securely to a 3M Stikit backup pad for consistent performance.
Durable C-weight Backing
The discs use a strong C-weight paper backing, which offers extra durability compared to lighter paper options. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, extending the life of each disc.
This durability makes the discs suitable for a variety of surfaces, including paint, primer, softwood, metal, and composites. The C-weight backing supports tough sanding tasks without compromising flexibility.
Convenient Roll Format
Each roll contains 100 discs, and the product comes with 4 rolls per case, providing a large supply for ongoing projects. The roll format eliminates the need to peel liners from individual discs, saving time during application.
This format is ideal for users who want quick access to discs without interruption. The 6 inch diameter and NH (non-hole) design fit well with many sanding tools, enhancing versatility on the job.
Aluminum Oxide Mineral
The abrasive surface uses aluminum oxide mineral, known for its durability and fast cutting ability. This mineral self-fractures to expose fresh edges, maintaining cutting performance longer than natural abrasives.
Aluminum oxide works well on a wide range of materials, including ferrous alloys, plastics, and fiberglass. Its toughness makes these discs a solid choice for both woodworking and metalworking applications.
Load-Resistant Coating Benefits
The discs feature a load-resistant coating that prevents clogging from softwoods, paints, and other materials. This coating helps maintain cutting efficiency and extends the useful life of the abrasive grains.
Combined with an open-coat construction, the discs allow dust to escape easily, reducing loading and keeping the sanding surface effective. This ensures consistent results throughout each disc’s use.
