Product Description
- Adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal
- Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
- Convenient disc rolls eliminate the need to remove disc liners from individual discs
- Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
- Strong, C-weight paper backing provides extra durability when compared to lighter weight paper backings
The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is a reliable choice for sanding tasks. This model features a strong adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal, making your workflow smoother.
Designed to work with the 3M Stikit backup pad (sold separately), this roll format provides convenience by eliminating the need to remove liners from individual discs, speeding up your sanding process.
Durable C-Weight Backing
These discs use a strong, C-weight paper backing that offers extra durability compared to lighter paper options. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, ensuring longer-lasting performance.
The 6 inch diameter and NH 6 hole pattern fit standard sanding equipment, providing compatibility with many tools. This backing supports consistent sanding on various surfaces without tearing easily.
Effective P80 Grade Abrasive
The P80 grade abrasive on these discs delivers a balanced cut rate suitable for many sanding and finishing jobs. This grade is ideal for smoothing surfaces like paint, primer, and softwood efficiently.
With the aluminum oxide mineral used, the discs cut fast and stay sharp longer. This makes them suitable for both woodworking and metalworking applications, including ferrous alloys.
Convenient Roll Format
Each roll contains 100 discs, and the case includes 4 rolls, making it easy to stock up and reduce downtime. The roll format allows quick access to discs without handling individual liners.
This packaging supports continuous work by keeping discs organized and ready to use. It’s especially helpful in busy workshops where efficiency matters.
Advanced Load-Resistant Coating
The discs feature a load-resistant coating that prevents premature clogging, maximizing cut efficiency and extending abrasive life. This coating is key for sanding materials like softwoods and paints.
The open-coat design spaces abrasive grains to allow dust to escape, reducing loading and maintaining performance. This ensures consistent sanding results on a variety of surfaces.
