The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
3M Stikit Model Features
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U offers a reliable sanding solution with its adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal. This model is designed to work with a 3M Stikit backup pad, making it convenient for various sanding tasks.
Its adhesive system eliminates the need to remove disc liners from individual discs, speeding up your workflow. The roll format includes 100 discs per roll and comes in a case of 4 rolls, ensuring you have plenty of supply for extended projects.
Durable C-weight Backing
This product features a strong, C-weight paper backing that provides extra durability compared to lighter weight papers. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, helping the discs last longer under tough conditions.
The robust backing supports the aluminum oxide mineral abrasive, ensuring the discs maintain their shape and performance. This makes the 6 inch discs suitable for demanding sanding and finishing jobs across multiple surfaces.
Precise 6 Inch Size
The discs measure 6 inches in diameter and include an NH 6 hole pattern, designed for compatibility with many standard disc sanders. This size is ideal for a variety of sanding applications, providing good coverage and control.
Using the 6 inch discs with the appropriate backup pad allows for efficient sanding on surfaces like paint, primer, softwood, metal, and composites. The size balances ease of handling with effective material removal.
Grade P320 Abrasive Quality
These discs use a P320 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, which offers a fine grit for smooth finishing and light sanding tasks. The mineral is known for its durability and fast cutting ability, making it suitable for many materials.
The P320 grade helps achieve a refined surface on wood, metal, plastic, and fiberglass. Its open-coat construction and load-resistant coating prevent clogging, extending the life of the abrasive grains during use.
Convenient Roll Format
The discs come in a roll format with 100 discs per roll and 4 rolls per case, providing a large quantity in a compact package. This format eliminates the hassle of handling individual discs and their liners.
Having multiple rolls in a case ensures you can keep a steady supply on hand for continuous sanding projects. The roll design supports quick disc access and easy storage, improving efficiency on the job.
