The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is designed for professionals who need reliable sanding discs. This model features the trusted 3M brand known for quality abrasives and consistent performance in various applications.
With the 236U model, users get a product that fits well with 3M Stikit backup pads, ensuring a secure hold and efficient sanding. This adhesive-backed roll simplifies disc changes and keeps work moving smoothly.
Convenient Roll Format
This product comes as a roll containing 100 discs, making it easy to access and apply discs quickly. The roll format eliminates the hassle of peeling liners from individual discs, saving time on the job.
Each case includes 4 rolls, providing a total of 400 discs. This pack size is ideal for workshops or job sites where frequent disc replacement is needed without interruption.
Precise 6 Inch Size
The discs measure 6 inches in diameter and feature a NH 6 Hole pattern, designed to fit many standard sanding machines. This size offers a good balance between coverage and control during sanding tasks.
These dimensions make the discs suitable for a variety of surfaces, including wood, metal, and composites. The 6-inch size is versatile enough for both detailed work and larger surface areas.
Durable C-Weight Backing
The discs use a strong C-weight paper backing, which provides extra durability compared to lighter paper types. This backing helps the discs withstand aggressive sanding without tearing or wearing out prematurely.
Combined with the load-resistant coating, the C-weight backing supports longer disc life by preventing clogging and maintaining cutting efficiency. This makes the discs a cost-effective choice for extended projects.
Effective P240 Grade Abrasive
These discs are graded P240, offering a fine abrasive surface suitable for finishing and smoothing tasks. The aluminum oxide mineral ensures fast cutting and good performance across many materials.
The open-coat design and load-resistant coating help keep the abrasive surface clear of debris, maximizing cut rate and disc lifespan. This grade is perfect for paint, primer, softwood, metal, and fiberglass sanding.
