The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is designed for professionals who need reliable sanding discs. This model features the trusted 3M brand and the specific 236U designation, ensuring quality and consistency in abrasive performance.
Its adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal, making it ideal for use with 3M Stikit backup pads. This model is perfect for users who want a fast and efficient sanding process without fuss.
Precise Six Inch Size
Each disc measures 6 inches in diameter, providing a large surface area for sanding tasks. This size fits many standard disc sanders, making it versatile for various projects and materials.
The 6 in x NH 6 Hole format ensures compatibility with dust extraction systems, helping to keep your workspace cleaner and improving sanding efficiency. This size and hole pattern are ideal for both professional and DIY use.
Durable C-Weight Backing
The discs use a strong C-weight paper backing, which offers extra durability compared to lighter paper options. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, extending the life of each disc.
This robust backing supports the aluminum oxide mineral abrasive, allowing the discs to perform well on tough surfaces. It’s a smart choice for users who need long-lasting sanding solutions.
Effective P220 Grade Abrasive
The P220 C-weight grade provides a fine abrasive suitable for finishing and smoothing surfaces. This grade is excellent for paint, primer, softwood, metal, and plastic, offering versatility in sanding applications.
Using this grade helps achieve a smooth finish without removing too much material, making it ideal for detailed work and final surface preparation before painting or coating.
Convenient Roll Format
The discs come in rolls of 100, with 4 rolls per case, providing a total of 400 discs. This roll format eliminates the need to peel liners from individual discs, speeding up the sanding process.
This packaging is perfect for high-volume users who want to keep their workspace organized and reduce downtime. The roll format also makes storage and handling easier compared to loose discs.
