Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U is designed for professionals who need reliable sanding solutions. This model features a strong adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal, saving time during projects.
Its design works seamlessly with 3M Stikit backup pads (sold separately), making it a versatile choice for various sanding tools. The 236U model ensures consistent performance across different surfaces.
Durable C-weight Backing
These discs come with a strong, C-weight paper backing that offers extra durability compared to lighter weight papers. This backing resists wear during aggressive sanding, extending the life of each disc.
The robust backing supports the aluminum oxide mineral abrasive, making the discs suitable for tough sanding tasks. This durability helps maintain sanding quality over multiple uses.
Precise Five Inch Size
Each disc measures 5 inches in diameter, providing a standard size that fits many common sanding tools. This size balances surface coverage and control for effective sanding and finishing.
The 5 inch discs are ideal for working on a variety of materials including paint, primer, metal, and composites. Their size makes them practical for both detailed and broader sanding jobs.
Convenient Roll Format
The discs come in a roll format, with 100 discs per roll and 4 rolls per case. This setup eliminates the need to remove liners from individual discs, speeding up the sanding process.
Having multiple rolls in one case ensures a steady supply for extended projects. The roll format also reduces waste and keeps discs organized for easy access.
Effective P500 Grade Abrasive
The discs use a P500 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its fast cutting ability and long life. This grade is suitable for fine sanding and finishing tasks on various surfaces.
The P500 grade helps prevent clogging thanks to its load-resistant coating and open-coat construction. This means the discs maintain cutting efficiency even on softwoods and painted surfaces.
