Product Description
- Adhesive backing allows for quick application and easy removal
- Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
- Convenient disc rolls eliminate the need to remove disc liners from individual discs
- Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
- Strong, C-weight paper backing provides extra durability when compared to lighter weight paper backings
The open-coat construction and load-resistant coating help prevent clogging to maximize cut and the useful life of the disc. 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U can be used for sanding and finishing on many different surfaces, such as paint, primer, softwood, metal, plastic, hard and soft composites, and fiberglass.
Our 3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. The Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with our 3M Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Stikit Paper Discs feature a load-resistant coating that allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. An open coat means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Paper Disc Roll 236U offers reliable performance with its well-known brand and model. This product features a strong adhesive backing that allows quick application and easy removal, making it user-friendly for various sanding tasks.
Designed to work with 3M Stikit backup pads (sold separately), this model ensures compatibility with many sanding tools. Its proven quality supports efficient sanding and finishing on multiple surfaces.
Precise Five Inch Size
These discs measure 5 inches in diameter, providing a standard size that fits many sanding machines. The 5-inch size balances surface coverage and maneuverability for detailed or broad sanding jobs.
With the NH 5 Hole pattern, dust extraction is optimized, helping to keep the sanding surface clean and improving overall efficiency. This size and hole configuration suit a variety of applications.
Durable P500 C-weight Grade
The P500 grade offers a fine abrasive level suitable for finishing and smoothing surfaces. The C-weight paper backing adds durability, resisting wear better than lighter backings during aggressive sanding.
This combination of grade and backing ensures the discs last longer and maintain cutting performance. It’s ideal for working on paint, primer, softwood, metal, and composites.
Convenient Roll Format
Each roll contains 100 discs, and the product comes with 4 rolls per case, making it easy to stock up and access discs quickly. The roll format eliminates the need to remove liners from individual discs, saving time.
This setup is perfect for busy workshops or professionals who require a steady supply of sanding discs. The rolls keep discs organized and ready for use with minimal hassle.
Effective Load-Resistant Coating
The discs feature a load-resistant coating that prevents premature clogging, allowing the abrasive grains to cut efficiently for longer periods. This coating helps maintain a consistent sanding performance.
Open-coat construction spaces abrasive grains to let dust escape, reducing loading and extending disc life. This makes the discs suitable for sanding materials like softwoods, paints, and fiberglass.
