Designed for use with a random orbital sander, our discs are made of long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading for a longer service life, and make 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U discs well-suited for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.
3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.
Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.
Trusted 3M Stikit Gold
The 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U offers reliable quality from a trusted brand. This model features the Stikit adhesive system, making it easy to attach discs to a backup pad without liners. The convenience of this system saves time and effort during sanding tasks.
Designed specifically for use with a random orbital sander, these discs provide consistent performance. The Stikit backing ensures discs stick firmly yet remove cleanly, maintaining a smooth workflow for professionals and DIYers alike.
Precise P400 A-weight Grade
This product includes P400 grade discs, ideal for fine finishing and light sanding jobs. The A-weight light paper backing supports delicate surfaces while providing enough durability for effective abrasion. This grade suits a variety of finishing applications.
Using the P400 discs helps achieve smooth surfaces on materials like paint, primer, wood, and composites. The fine grit ensures controlled material removal without damaging the substrate, making it perfect for detailed work.
Generous Five Inch Size
The discs measure 5 inches in diameter, a common size compatible with many random orbital sanders. This size offers a good balance between coverage area and maneuverability, allowing users to work efficiently on medium-sized surfaces.
With a 5-inch diameter, these discs fit standard Stikit backup pads, ensuring secure attachment and optimal sanding performance. The size is versatile enough for automotive, woodworking, and metal finishing tasks.
Roll Format Convenience
The discs come in a roll format, specifically Die500X, containing 175 discs per roll. This eliminates the need for liners and makes it easy to grab discs quickly, boosting productivity on the job. The roll format also reduces waste and storage space.
Each case includes 6 rolls, providing a total of 1,050 discs. This large pack count is ideal for high-volume sanding operations or workshops that require frequent disc changes without interruption.
Durable Aluminum Oxide
These discs use aluminum oxide mineral, known for durability and fast cutting on many surfaces. The open coat construction reduces dust buildup, preventing loading and extending disc life. This makes sanding smoother and more efficient.
The load-resistant coating further helps maintain cutting performance by minimizing clogging from wood or paint dust. This combination ensures the discs perform well on wood, metal, plastic, and composites like fiberglass.
