Designed for use with a random orbital sander, our discs are made of long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading for a longer service life, and make 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U discs well-suited for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.
3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.
Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model

Precise Size And Format

This convenient roll form helps increase productivity by allowing quick access to discs. The format is designed for use with a Stikit backup pad, sold separately, ensuring easy attachment and removal.
Durable Grade And Backing
The P400 A-weight backing is a light paper that’s suitable for finishing applications, providing a smooth sanding experience. This backing supports the aluminum oxide mineral, which is known for its durability and fast cutting ability.
With this combination, the discs perform well on various surfaces including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites. The backing and grade work together to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Efficient Load-Resistant Coating
The discs feature a load-resistant coating that prevents premature loading of the abrasive surface. This helps maximize the cut and extends the life of the abrasive grains, saving you time and money.
Open coat construction spaces the abrasive grains to minimize dust buildup on both the disc and workpiece. This design reduces clogging and keeps the sanding process efficient and clean.
Bulk Pack For Convenience
This product comes in a case containing 6 rolls, each with 175 discs, totaling 1050 discs. This bulk pack is ideal for professionals or anyone needing a large supply of sanding discs.
The roll format combined with the pack size ensures you have plenty of discs on hand for extended projects. It’s a practical choice for workshops or job sites requiring continuous sanding work.
