Designed for use with a random orbital sander, our discs are made of long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading for a longer service life, and make 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U discs well-suited for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.
3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.
Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U offers reliable sanding performance with a trusted brand and model. This product is designed for easy use and consistent results, making it a solid choice for finishing tasks.

Durable Aluminum Oxide Grade
Featuring a P320 A-weight grade, these discs use aluminum oxide mineral for durability and fast cutting. This grade is ideal for finishing applications, providing a smooth surface on many materials.
The aluminum oxide abrasive grains resist wear and extend disc life. This makes the P320 grade perfect for sanding paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites like fiberglass.
Convenient Roll Format
The 3M Stikit discs come in a roll format measuring 6 inches by NH die 600Z, which eliminates liners and speeds up the sanding process. This format lets you grab discs quickly without fuss.
Each roll contains 175 discs, and the product includes 6 rolls per case. This pack size ensures you have plenty of discs on hand for extended projects or multiple jobs.
Lightweight Paper Backing
The discs feature an A-weight light paper backing, which is perfect for finishing tasks requiring a gentle touch. This backing supports smooth sanding without damaging delicate surfaces.
Its lightweight nature also helps reduce fatigue during use, making it easier to handle for longer periods. The paper backing complements the adhesive system for secure attachment to backup pads.
Open Coat Load Resistance
Open coat construction minimizes dust buildup on the abrasive and workpiece, improving productivity. This design spaces abrasive grains to prevent loading and maintain cutting efficiency.
A load-resistant coating further prevents premature clogging, extending the life of the abrasive grains. Together, these features make the discs effective for general sanding and finishing on many surfaces.
