  • Product Description
    • A-weight light paper backing is suitable for finishing applications
    • Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
    • Convenient roll form means no liners to remove, increasing productivity
    • Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
    • Open coat construction minimizes dust on the abrasive and workpiece for increased productivity
The 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is designed for convenience, combining open coat aluminum oxide discs with a handy adhesive backing ready for easy attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll makes the discs easy to grab while eliminating the use of disc liners.

Designed for use with a random orbital sander, our discs are made of long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading for a longer service life, and make 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U discs well-suited for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.

3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.

Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.

    Trusted 3M Stikit Model

The 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U offers reliable performance with a trusted brand and model. This product is designed to meet professional standards, ensuring consistent results every time you use it.

Its adhesive backing allows quick attachment to a Stikit backup pad, making it easy to switch discs without hassle. This model is ideal for users who want efficiency combined with quality in their sanding tasks.

    Precise 5 Inch Size

Each disc in this roll measures 5 inches in diameter, providing a perfect size for many sanding applications. This dimension fits well with most random orbital sanders, offering a balanced surface area for effective sanding.

The 5 inch size is versatile enough for detailed finishing work while covering enough area for faster material removal. It’s a practical choice for both small projects and larger surfaces.

    Durable P150 A-weight Grade

The discs come in a P150 grade with an A-weight backing, which is light paper suitable for finishing applications. This grade offers a good balance between material removal and surface smoothness.

Using P150 abrasive ensures you get a fine finish on wood, metal, and composites. The A-weight backing supports this by providing flexibility and durability during sanding.

    Convenient Roll Format

This product includes 175 discs per roll, with 6 rolls per case, making it a large supply for ongoing projects. The roll format eliminates liners, so you can quickly grab and apply discs without extra steps.

The roll design increases productivity by reducing downtime spent peeling liners. It’s perfect for busy workshops or job sites where efficiency is key.

    Effective Open Coat Construction

The open coat aluminum oxide mineral helps prevent loading by spacing abrasive grains to minimize dust buildup. This feature keeps the disc cutting efficiently longer and extends its lifespan.

Open coat construction also provides a more aggressive cut compared to closed coat abrasives of the same grade. It works well on paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and fiberglass surfaces.
