  • Product Description
    • A-weight light paper backing is suitable for finishing applications
    • Aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
    • Convenient roll form means no liners to remove, increasing productivity
    • Load-resistant coating helps prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend the life of the abrasive grains
    • Open coat construction minimizes dust on the abrasive and workpiece for increased productivity
The 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U is designed for convenience, combining open coat aluminum oxide discs with a handy adhesive backing ready for easy attachment to a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). This disc roll makes the discs easy to grab while eliminating the use of disc liners.

Designed for use with a random orbital sander, our discs are made of long-lasting aluminum oxide abrasive grains on a light A-weight paper backing suitable for lightweight sanding and finishing. The open coat and load-resistant coating help prevent loading for a longer service life, and make 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U discs well-suited for general sanding and finishing applications on a variety of substrates, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.

3M Stikit discs are designed to handle a wide range of sanding and finishing needs. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so they conveniently press on to the backup pad, and remove cleanly, leaving an uncontaminated surface for the next disc. A Stikit disc should be used in conjunction with a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a random orbital sander.

Loading occurs when wood or paint dust clogs the surface of the disc and the abrasive points, which can quickly make the disc ineffective. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are spaced so that dust and debris can collect in the spaces rather than loading the disc. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, for faster results.

    3M Stikit Gold Model

The 3M Stikit Gold Paper Disc Roll 216U offers a trusted brand and model known for quality sanding products. This model features a P150 A-weight grade, providing a balance between cutting speed and surface finish.

Designed specifically for finishing applications, the A-weight light paper backing supports smooth results. The adhesive backing allows easy attachment to a Stikit backup pad, making the sanding process efficient and reliable.

    Durable Aluminum Oxide Abrasive

These discs use aluminum oxide mineral, which is durable and cuts fast on many surfaces. This mineral choice ensures the discs perform well on materials like wood, metal, and composites.

The open coat construction spaces abrasive grains to reduce dust buildup, improving cut speed and extending disc life. This feature also helps prevent loading, keeping the disc effective longer during use.

    Convenient Roll Format

The discs come in a roll format measuring 5 inches by NH, which eliminates the need for liners. This convenience speeds up work by allowing quick disc removal and application without extra waste.

Each roll contains 175 discs, and the product is sold in cases of 6 rolls. This pack size supports continuous sanding tasks without frequent reordering or downtime.

    Load-Resistant Coating Benefits

A load-resistant coating on the discs helps prevent premature loading of the abrasive surface. This coating maximizes cutting efficiency and extends the life of the abrasive grains under heavy use.

By minimizing clogging from dust and debris, the coating maintains consistent sanding performance. This makes the discs suitable for a variety of substrates including paint, primer, plastic, and fiberglass.

    Designed For Random Orbital

These discs are designed to be used with a random orbital sander and require a Stikit backup pad (sold separately). The pressure-sensitive adhesive backing ensures easy attachment and clean removal.

The 5HL die and 500FH die specifications ensure compatibility with standard sanding equipment. This design supports efficient sanding and finishing across multiple applications.
