3M Stikit Gold Film Disc Roll 255L provides discs that feature aluminum oxide abrasive grain on a film backing for a fast cut-rate and uniform, close-tolerance finish on wood, paint prep, and defect repair applications. The flexible backing provides a consistent finish and greater tear-resistance than a comparable paper product, making it well-suited for a high-production environment.

Our 3M Stikit pressure sensitive adhesive backing provides ease of attachment to a random orbital sander and a clean, residue-free removal, while the roll form offers quick access to a disc and eliminates disc liners. The open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade, and the disc’s load-resistant coating reduces clogging of the disc, making this a good choice for woodworking and other applications where loading hinders performance. Designed for use with a random orbital sander, this disc comes in a range of grades for fine sanding and finishing, and is resin-bonded for reliable performance under high heat and pressure.

We chose aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn’t clogging the cutting surface of the abrasives. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate sawdust and other sanding debris and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating also allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. Additionally, the open coat feature provides a more aggressive cut than a comparable closed coat abrasive of the same grade. All of this adds up to increased productivity and reduced material consumption.

Our 3M Stikit system eliminates the time-consuming task of applying adhesive to the disc backing. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so that attaching them to your disc pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker. And because the adhesive is pressure sensitive, the disc can be peeled off of the disc pad just as easily, leaving a clean surface for your next disc. A Stikit disc must be pressed onto a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.

    3M Stikit Gold Model

The 3M Stikit Gold Film Disc Roll 255L is designed for quick application and easy removal thanks to its Stikit adhesive backing. This feature makes attaching the disc to a sander simple and efficient, saving time during sanding tasks.

Ideal for professionals, this model supports a consistent finish with its tear-resistant film backing. It’s perfect for use in high-production environments where durability and reliability matter.

    Fast Cut Aluminum Oxide

Featuring aluminum oxide abrasive, this disc offers a fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral is popular among industrial users because it self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, maintaining performance over time.

Its strength and hardness make it suitable for sanding wood, paint prep, and defect repair. The P180 grade ensures a fine sanding finish, meeting professional standards.

    Convenient Roll Format

The disc comes in a convenient roll form, eliminating the need to remove liners from individual discs. This format allows quick access to discs and reduces waste, improving workflow efficiency.

Each roll contains 125 discs, and the package includes 4 rolls per case. This pack size supports extended use without frequent reordering, ideal for busy workshops.

    Size And Compatibility

Each disc measures 5 inches in diameter and features a NH arbor hole size. This sizing fits standard random orbital sanders, ensuring compatibility with common sanding tools.

The discs are designed for use with a Stikit backup pad, which must be purchased separately. This system guarantees a secure fit and easy disc changes during sanding.

    Open Coat Load Resistance

The open coat construction spaces abrasive grains to prevent clogging from dust and debris. This design helps maintain cutting efficiency, especially when sanding softwoods and painted surfaces.

A load-resistant coating further reduces clogging, allowing the disc to cut aggressively and last longer. This feature boosts productivity by minimizing downtime for disc cleaning or replacement.
