Our discs feature a sturdy film backing that provides the durability needed for a high-production environment, and offer excellent resistance to edge tearing to increase the life of the disc over discs with standard A-weight paper backings. At the same time, the film backing provides a close-tolerance, consistent finish, making it a good choice for applications such as spot repairs, sanding plastic parts, paint feathering on defects, or sanding automotive primer.
To help reduce loading on the disc, the disc has open coat construction without a load-resistant stearate coating. The Stikit adhesive on the backing conveniently attaches the disc to a low-profile 3M Stikit Disc Pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander. 3M Stikit Film Disc Roll 360L comes in a range of grades for various applications from fine sanding to finishing.
Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn’t loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. An open coat means the abrasive grains have space between them so that sanding debris collects in the spaces rather than loading the cutting edge of the grains. This feature has the added advantage of producing a more aggressive cut.
We chose aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Our 3M Stikit system eliminates the time-consuming task of applying adhesive to the disc backing. These high-quality, coated abrasive products come ready to use with a pressure sensitive adhesive coating on the backside so that attaching them to your disc pad is as simple as pressing on a sticker. And because the adhesive is pressure sensitive, the disc can be peeled off of the disc pad just as easily, leaving a clean surface for your next disc. A Stikit disc must be pressed onto a Stikit backup pad (also called a disc pad and sold separately) that is attached to a disc sander, random orbital sander, or stationary disc sander.
Trusted 3M Stikit Model
The 3M Stikit Film Disc Roll 360L offers a reliable sanding solution with the trusted 3M brand backing it. This model features the Stikit adhesive system, making application and removal quick and hassle-free.
Designed for efficiency, the Stikit adhesive allows discs to stick firmly to compatible pads yet peel off cleanly, saving time during sanding tasks. This model is ideal for users who value convenience and quality in their abrasive tools.
Precise Six Inch Size
Each disc in this roll measures 6 inches, providing a perfect size for a variety of sanding applications. The 6 in dimension fits standard disc pads, ensuring compatibility with many random orbital sanders.
This size is versatile enough for detailed work and broad surface sanding, making it suitable for automotive, woodworking, and plastic finishing projects. The consistent size helps maintain control and accuracy during use.
Durable Film Backing
The 3M Stikit Film Disc Roll 360L uses a durable film backing that resists tearing and delivers a consistent finish. This backing is tougher than standard paper, extending the disc’s life in demanding environments.
Thanks to the film backing, these discs maintain close tolerances, which is essential for spot repairs, paint feathering, and sanding automotive primers. The backing supports high production without sacrificing quality.
Effective P220 Grade Abrasive
This product includes P220 grade aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its fast cutting and long-lasting performance. The NH P220 grade is suitable for fine sanding and finishing tasks on various surfaces.
Aluminum oxide grains self-fracture to expose fresh edges, maintaining cutting efficiency. This grade works well on plastics, gel coats, and polyurethane solid surfaces, making it a versatile choice for professionals.
Large Pack Count Rolls
The package contains 4 rolls, each with 125 discs, totaling 500 discs per case. This large pack count supports extended use without frequent reordering, ideal for busy workshops or production lines.
Having multiple rolls on hand ensures you can keep up with high-volume sanding jobs. The roll format also eliminates the need to remove liners from individual discs, speeding up the workflow.
