The mix ratio for 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Epoxy Adhesive DP100 is 1:1 for quick, precise dispensing, and with a 5-minute working time there's some opportunity for repositioning for precise alignment of parts. The adhesive reaches handling strength in approximately 20 minutes and is fully cured in 48 hours (at 72°F/22°C). UL 94 HB certified.
Understanding Epoxy Adhesives
Epoxy adhesives, including 5 minute epoxy are part of the class of adhesives called "structural adhesives," which include polyurethane, acrylic, cyanoacrylate and others. Epoxies are formulated as liquid reactive polymers that undergo a chemical reaction when mixed and then cure to form a solid plastic material. Once the two parts are mixed in their specified ratio, they begin the curing process and offer a limited working time where the adhesive can be applied and the two surfaces positioned as needed. This work life lasts anywhere from a few minutes to several hours. These structural adhesives provide high shear and peel strengths, depending on the formula, and better heat and chemical resistance than other common adhesives. In general, epoxy adhesives have the highest overall strength and offer the best performance and most resistance to high temperatures, solvents and outdoor weathering.
Epoxy adhesive (often referred to as epoxy glue) is widely used in building and home construction; aircraft and automobile manufacturing; bicycle, boat, golf clubs, ski and snowboard assembly as well as a host of home use and other applications. It is used virtually anywhere high-strength bonds are needed along with resistance to environmental conditions. These adhesives are popular for their ease of use, mechanical strength and chemical resistance. Formulations can be created to make epoxy for plastic flexible or epoxy for metal rigid, epoxy resin transparent or opaque, quick setting or slow setting. The versatility with which these adhesives can be formulated helps meet almost any requirement for bonding wood, metal, glass, stone and various plastics.Trusted 3M Scotch-Weld Model
The 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP100 is a clear, two-part epoxy known for its reliable bonding strength. This exact model, DP100, comes in a Duo-Pak format, making it easy to mix and apply with precision.
Ideal for professionals and hobbyists alike, this adhesive offers a 48.5 mL Duo-Pak size, ensuring you have enough product for multiple projects. The 12 per case pack count supports bulk purchasing for larger needs.
Clear Epoxy For Versatility
This clear epoxy adhesive is formulated with a low viscosity for transparent bond lines, which means your finished work looks clean and professional. Its clarity is perfect for applications where appearance matters.
It bonds well to a variety of materials including wood, metal, glass, stone, and plastics. This versatility makes the DP100 suitable for many industries such as construction, signage, and consumer goods.
Fast Five Minute Worklife
The DP100 epoxy offers a quick 5-minute open working time, allowing you to adjust and reposition parts before the adhesive sets. This feature helps ensure precise alignment during assembly.
Handling strength is reached in about 20 minutes, and full cure occurs within 24 to 48 hours at room temperature (73 °F or 23 °C). This balance of speed and strength supports efficient project completion.
Strong Rigid Structural Bonds
Once cured, the DP100 epoxy forms a rigid bond with high shear strength, providing long-lasting durability. This makes it ideal for structural applications requiring permanent attachment.
Its strength supports use in transportation, industrial, electrical, and construction sectors, where secure and lasting bonds are critical for safety and performance.
Convenient Duo-Pak Format
The 48.5 mL Duo-Pak packaging allows for precise 1:1 mixing of the two epoxy components, reducing waste and ensuring consistent results. This format is designed for easy dispensing and accurate application.
Available in packs of 12, this packaging suits both small-scale and larger projects. Using 3M dispensing equipment with the Duo-Pak enhances convenience and accuracy during use.
