3M Paper Belt 466UZ is a smooth running belt constructed with silicon carbide mineral, bonded to an F-weight paper backing. The semi-closed coat construction efficiently sands and finishes flat surfaces in woodworking applications. F-weight is one of the heaviest, most durable paper backings available and will achieve finer finishes than cloth backed belts in the same grade.

The paper backing provides smooth operation and durability. The abrasive side features a semi-closed coat structure that provides greater grain density to achieve finer finishes than open coat belts. This belt also features our dust management technology that reduces static charge in the dust particles, allowing them to be pulled away when coupled with an efficient dust collection system.

To help provide your desired finishing results, the belt ends are joined using a sine wave splice that promotes belt strength and resists hinging and splice fatigue. The splice travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and promotes smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results.

Our 3M Paper Belt 466UZ uses silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low pressure applications such as final finishing in whitewood sanding. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used to dimension and sand large wooden panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge or portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

    Trusted 3M Paper Belt

The 3M Paper Belt 466UZ offers reliable performance with its well-known brand and model. This belt is designed to deliver consistent sanding results, making it a dependable choice for various finishing tasks.

Its silicon carbide abrasive ensures a finer finish compared to aluminum oxide, ideal for applications requiring smooth surfaces. The 466UZ model stands out for quality and precision in sanding jobs.

    Durable F-weight Backing

This belt features an F-weight, Full-flex heavy paper backing that provides excellent durability and smooth operation. The backing supports sanding in either direction without compromising the belt’s integrity.

F-weight is one of the heaviest paper backings available, offering longer life and better finish quality than cloth-backed belts. It’s perfect for demanding woodworking and finishing tasks.

    Optimal Size And Format

Measuring 52 inches by 103 inches, this belt fits a wide range of industrial belt sanders. Its size allows for efficient sanding of large surfaces and detailed finishing work.

The pack includes 5 belts per case, providing enough supply for multiple projects or extended use. This format supports both professional and high-volume sanding needs.

    Advanced Sine-lok Splice

The sine wave splice technology prevents hinging and resists fatigue in the splice area. This design minimizes chatter marks, ensuring a smooth and consistent sanding experience.

It also promotes smooth operation over contact wheels and platens, allowing the belt to run effectively in either direction. This feature enhances the belt’s lifespan and finishing quality.

    Effective Dust Management

Anti-static treatment helps control dust and loading during sanding. This reduces static charge in dust particles, improving dust collection efficiency and maintaining a cleaner work environment.

The semi-closed coat construction combined with dust management technology produces a finer finish and keeps the belt running smoothly. It’s especially useful in woodworking applications requiring precision.
