3M Paper Belt 466UZ is a smooth running belt constructed with silicon carbide mineral, bonded to an F-weight paper backing. The semi-closed coat construction efficiently sands and finishes flat surfaces in woodworking applications. F-weight is one of the heaviest, most durable paper backings available and will achieve finer finishes than cloth backed belts in the same grade.

The paper backing provides smooth operation and durability. The abrasive side features a semi-closed coat structure that provides greater grain density to achieve finer finishes than open coat belts. This belt also features our dust management technology that reduces static charge in the dust particles, allowing them to be pulled away when coupled with an efficient dust collection system.

To help provide your desired finishing results, the belt ends are joined using a sine wave splice that promotes belt strength and resists hinging and splice fatigue. The splice travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and promotes smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results.

Our 3M Paper Belt 466UZ uses silicon carbide, a synthetic mineral that is very sharp and commonly used for low pressure applications such as final finishing in whitewood sanding. While it breaks down faster than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanding tools for many different applications on both wood and metal. At 3M we offer a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used to dimension and sand large wooden panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge or portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

    Trusted 3M Paper Belt

The 3M Paper Belt 466UZ is a reliable choice for sanding tasks. This model features silicon carbide abrasive bonded to an F-weight paper backing, ensuring durability and smooth operation. The brand’s reputation guarantees consistent quality in every belt.

Designed for woodworking and finishing, the 466UZ model balances sharpness and longevity. Its construction supports fine finishes, making it suitable for detailed sanding jobs where precision matters.

    Precise Size And Format

This belt measures 52 inches by 103 inches, providing ample surface area for large sanding projects. The size fits a variety of industrial belt sanders, making it versatile for different applications.

Packaged as 5 belts per case, it offers convenience and value for professionals who need multiple belts ready for use. The format supports efficient workflow with minimal downtime for belt changes.

    Durable F-weight Backing

The F-weight fullflex heavy paper backing is one of the strongest available, offering excellent durability. This backing supports smooth operation in either sanding direction, reducing wear and tear on the belt.

Its heavy paper construction also helps achieve finer finishes compared to cloth-backed belts of the same grade. This makes it ideal for applications requiring both toughness and quality results.

    Advanced Abrasive Technology

The silicon carbide abrasive on this belt produces a finer finish than aluminum oxide alternatives. This synthetic mineral is sharp and well-suited for low-pressure sanding, especially in final finishing stages.

Though it breaks down faster than some abrasives, it delivers superior surface quality. This makes the 466UZ belt perfect for woodworking tasks where a smooth, refined finish is essential.

    Innovative Sine Wave Splice

The belt ends are joined using a sine wave splice, which prevents hinging and resists fatigue in the splice area. This design minimizes chatter marks and promotes smooth operation over contact wheels and platens.

By reducing splice wear, the sine wave splice extends belt life and ensures consistent finishing results. It also allows the belt to run smoothly in either direction, enhancing versatility during sanding.
