3M Paper Belt 346UZ is constructed with a premium aluminum oxide mineral. It is an open coat construction for loading resistance and is coated on an F-weight paper backing to efficiently sand and finish. F-weight is one of the heaviest, most rigid paper backings available and will achieve finer finishes than cloth backed belts in the same grade.

The paper backing of our 3M Paper Belt 346UZ provides smooth operation and durability. The abrasive side features an open coat structure. The open coat construction resists loading better than closed coat belts, particularly on soft wood. This belt also features our 3M dust management technology that reduces static cling in the dust particles, allowing them to be evacuated more easily when coupled with an efficient dust collection system. To support desired finishing results, the belt ends are joined using an sine wave splice that promotes belt strength and resists hinging and splice fatigue. The splice travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and promotes smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results.

3M Paper Belt 346UZ features a premium aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used for sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanders for many different applications on both wood and metal. 3M offers a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used to dimension and sand large wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge or portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

    Trusted 3M Paper Belt

The 3M Paper Belt 364UZ offers reliable performance with its well-known brand and model. This belt is designed to meet professional standards, ensuring consistent results for sanding and finishing tasks.

Its P180 F-weight grade provides a balance of durability and smooth operation, making it suitable for various industrial applications. The 5 ea/Case pack size ensures you have enough belts for ongoing projects.

    Durable F-weight Backing

The F-weight heavy paper backing on this 52 in x 103 in belt delivers strength and rigidity. This backing supports smooth operation in either direction, reducing wear and tear during use.

This backing type is one of the heaviest paper backings available, offering better finishes than cloth-backed belts of the same grade. It’s ideal for demanding sanding jobs requiring consistent quality.

    Efficient Open Coat Design

The open coat construction of the 364UZ belt helps prevent loading by allowing dust and debris to escape. This feature keeps the abrasive surface cleaner, improving sanding efficiency and belt life.

Open coat belts like this one work especially well on soft wood, where clogging can be a problem. This design supports fast stock removal, speeding up your sanding process.

    Premium Aluminum Oxide Mineral

This belt uses a premium aluminum oxide mineral that provides aggressive cutting and long abrasive life. The mineral self-fractures to expose fresh edges, maintaining performance over time.

Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide range of materials, including wood and metal. Its hardness and low heat retention make it a popular choice for industrial sanding and finishing.

    Reliable Sine Wave Splice

The sine wave splice on the 364UZ belt prevents hinging and resists fatigue in the splice area. This design helps minimize chatter marks, ensuring smooth operation across contact wheels and platens.

This splice also allows the belt to run smoothly in either direction, promoting consistent finishing results. It enhances belt strength and durability, extending the life of each belt in the 5 ea/Case pack.
