3M Paper Belt 346UZ is constructed with a premium aluminum oxide mineral. It is an open coat construction for loading resistance and is coated on an F-weight paper backing to efficiently sand and finish. F-weight is one of the heaviest, most rigid paper backings available and will achieve finer finishes than cloth backed belts in the same grade.

The paper backing of our 3M Paper Belt 346UZ provides smooth operation and durability. The abrasive side features an open coat structure. The open coat construction resists loading better than closed coat belts, particularly on soft wood. This belt also features our 3M dust management technology that reduces static cling in the dust particles, allowing them to be evacuated more easily when coupled with an efficient dust collection system. To support desired finishing results, the belt ends are joined using an sine wave splice that promotes belt strength and resists hinging and splice fatigue. The splice travels smoothly over contact wheels and platens, minimizes chatter marks, and promotes smooth operation in either direction for consistent finishing results.

3M Paper Belt 346UZ features a premium aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its cut-rate and long life. This mineral is a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges in use, whereas traditional abrasives, such as garnet, quickly wear down with use. Due to its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention, aluminum oxide mineral is widely used for sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

Abrasive belts come in many different widths and lengths and are used on a variety of different belt sanders for many different applications on both wood and metal. 3M offers a broad selection of belts to fit most any industrial belt sander. Wider belts are used to dimension and sand large wood panels, smooth rough cut edges of metal sheets, or add a grain pattern to stainless steel sheets. Medium-width belts fit onto edge or portable belt sanders for sanding or blending wood pieces such as cabinet doors.

    Brand Model Overview

The 3M Paper Belt 364UZ is a reliable choice for sanding tasks. This model features the trusted 3M brand quality combined with the 364UZ designation, ensuring you get a specific product designed for consistent performance.

Its construction includes the Full-Flex format, which allows the belt to operate smoothly and flexibly on various sanding equipment. This flexibility helps maintain even sanding results across different surfaces.

    Durable Backing Material

This belt uses an F-weight heavy paper backing, known for its durability and smooth operation. The F-weight backing is one of the heaviest and most rigid paper types, providing excellent support during sanding.

Because of this backing, the belt performs well in either direction, making it versatile for different sanding applications. It also helps achieve finer finishes compared to cloth-backed belts of the same grade.

    Precise Size Dimensions

The belt measures 43 inches by 75 inches, a size suitable for a variety of industrial belt sanders. These dimensions allow it to cover large surfaces efficiently, making it ideal for both woodworking and metalworking projects.

Its length and width fit many standard sanding machines, providing flexibility for users who need a dependable belt size for different tasks. This size supports smooth and consistent sanding results.

    Effective Abrasive Grade

The P180 grade offers a fine abrasive level, perfect for finishing and smoothing surfaces. This grade balances material removal with surface refinement, making it suitable for detailed sanding work.

Using the P180 F-weight belt helps achieve a clean finish on wood and metal substrates. It’s especially useful when a finer finish is required without sacrificing sanding speed or belt life.

    Pack Count Convenience

This product comes in a pack of 5 belts per case, providing enough supply for multiple projects or extended use. Having five belts in one case ensures you can replace worn belts quickly without downtime.

The pack size is ideal for professionals and workshops that require consistent availability of sanding belts. It also offers good value by bundling multiple belts together for efficient inventory management.
