  • Product Description
    • 3M Hookit discs are easy to change and reuse, maximizing sanding utility for the life of the disc
    • Open coat construction and load-resistant coating prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend abrasive life
    • Premium aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
    • Strong, C-weight paper backing supports aggressive sanding with extra durability compared to lighter weight paper backings
3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U offers aggressive cut and long life on a premium aluminum oxide disc with a durable edge and convenient Hookit attachment. A go-to product in many industrial operations, this durable disc is well suited for high production sanding operations as well as general purpose applications on paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.

Designed for use with a random orbital sander, the strong C-weight paper backing on our 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U resists tearing and edgewear during aggressive sanding, and the disc is resin-bonded for heat-resistance, further increasing life and cut. These discs also feature an open coat and a load-resistant coating to enhance dust management and cut-rate.

A load-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. Loading is further reduced by an open coat, which means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than obstructing the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.

Sanding discs come in a variety of forms to fit various power tools and disc pads. We designed the 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U to conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, to be removed cleanly and easily, and be simple to reuse. A load-resistant coating prevents wood dust, paint particles, and other debris from prematurely clogging the surface of the disc, optimizing cut-rate and disc life.

    Trusted 3M Hookit Quality

The 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U delivers reliable performance with the trusted 3M brand and model. This sanding disc is designed for industrial use, ensuring consistent results every time you work.

Its Hookit attachment system makes changing discs quick and easy, helping you maintain productivity without downtime. The model 236U is well-known for durability and efficiency in sanding tasks.

    Durable C-Weight Backing

This disc features a strong C-weight paper backing, providing extra durability compared to lighter paper backings. This backing supports aggressive sanding and resists tearing during tough jobs.

With a size of 6 inches by NH, the disc fits many random orbital sanders, making it versatile for various sanding applications. The backing also helps maintain the disc’s shape and edge integrity.

    Premium Grade P320 Abrasive

The 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U comes with a P320 grade abrasive, offering a fine sanding finish. This grade is ideal for smoothing surfaces like paint, primer, wood, and composites.

Using this grade helps achieve a consistent surface texture, especially in automotive and woodworking projects. The P320 grade balances cut rate and finish quality effectively.

    Open Coat Load Resistance

Open coat construction combined with a load-resistant coating prevents the disc surface from clogging prematurely. This design maximizes cutting efficiency and extends the abrasive life.

It works well on softwoods, paints, and other materials that typically cause loading. The open coat spacing allows dust to escape, maintaining a sharp cutting edge longer.

    Convenient Pack Size Options

This product is available in packs of 50 discs and cases containing 250 discs, providing options for both small and large-scale sanding needs. The pack sizes help manage inventory and reduce frequent reordering.

Having 50 discs per pack ensures you have enough for multiple projects, while the 250 discs per case suit high-production environments. The format supports efficient workflow and cost management.
