  • Product Description
    • 3M Hookit discs are easy to change and reuse, maximizing sanding utility for the life of the disc
    • Open coat construction and load-resistant coating prevent premature loading of the disc surface to maximize cut and extend abrasive life
    • Premium aluminum oxide mineral is durable, cuts fast, and performs well on many surfaces
    • Strong, C-weight paper backing supports aggressive sanding with extra durability compared to lighter weight paper backings
3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U offers aggressive cut and long life on a premium aluminum oxide disc with a durable edge and convenient Hookit attachment. A go-to product in many industrial operations, this durable disc is well suited for high production sanding operations as well as general purpose applications on paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites, including fiberglass.

Designed for use with a random orbital sander, the strong C-weight paper backing on our 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U resists tearing and edgewear during aggressive sanding, and the disc is resin-bonded for heat-resistance, further increasing life and cut. These discs also feature an open coat and a load-resistant coating to enhance dust management and cut-rate.

A load-resistant coating allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the surface of the disc and hinder sanding ability. Loading is further reduced by an open coat, which means the abrasive grains are spaced slightly apart so that dust can escape rather than obstructing the cutting edge of the grains, thereby optimizing cut-rate and disc life.

Sanding discs come in a variety of forms to fit various power tools and disc pads. We designed the 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U to conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, to be removed cleanly and easily, and be simple to reuse. A load-resistant coating prevents wood dust, paint particles, and other debris from prematurely clogging the surface of the disc, optimizing cut-rate and disc life.

    Trusted 3M Hookit Quality

The 3M Hookit Paper Disc 236U is a reliable choice for sanding tasks. This exact model offers consistent performance thanks to 3M’s proven abrasive technology and design.

Its Hookit attachment system makes changing discs quick and easy, helping you keep work moving smoothly without downtime.

    Durable C-weight Backing

This sanding disc features a strong C-weight paper backing, which stands up to aggressive sanding without tearing. It’s more durable than lighter paper backings, ensuring longer use.

Designed for 6 in x NH size, the backing supports tough jobs and helps maintain disc shape during heavy use, making it ideal for demanding surfaces.

    Premium P120 Grade Abrasive

The P120 grade aluminum oxide mineral on this disc cuts fast and lasts long. It’s suitable for many surfaces, including paint, primer, wood, metal, plastic, and composites.

This grade balances aggressive cutting with smooth finish, making it a versatile choice for both industrial and general purpose sanding.

    Convenient Hookit Attachment

The disc’s Hookit system allows for quick attachment and removal on compatible random orbital sanders. This format reduces downtime and simplifies disc changes.

Its design fits securely on hook-and-loop backup pads, providing a firm hold during sanding while allowing easy reuse of the disc.

    Bulk Pack For Efficiency

Sold as 50 discs per pack and 250 discs per case, this packaging supports high-volume sanding operations. It helps keep your supply stocked and ready for continuous work.

The bulk pack format is ideal for industrial settings or workshops where frequent disc changes are necessary, ensuring you always have the right disc on hand.
