3M Hookit Gold Paper Disc 216U is constructed of aluminum oxide on a light-weight paper backing and is suitable for finishing applications with a random orbital sander on wood as well as primer, paint, sealers, topcoats, fiberglass, and plastics. Open coat construction and a load-resistant coating help prevent clogging of the disc to optimize cut and prolong disc life.

Our 3M Hookit (hook-and-loop) attachment system makes disc changes fast and easy, meaning the disc can be used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life.

Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn’t loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate sanding dust and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating also allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. Together with the 3M Hookit backing, these features add up to increased productivity and reduced material consumption.

We chose aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

    Trusted 3M Hookit Model

The 3M Hookit Paper Disc 216U offers reliable performance with the trusted 3M brand. This model features the Hookit attachment system, making disc changes quick and easy for continuous use throughout the abrasive life.

Designed for professionals, the 216U model ensures maximum utility by allowing users to reuse the disc multiple times. Its hook-and-loop system supports fast swaps, saving time during sanding tasks.

    Precise P400 A-weight Grade

This disc comes in a P400 A-weight grade, ideal for finishing applications. The light A-weight paper backing supports smooth, fine sanding results on various surfaces.

Using the P400 grade ensures controlled abrasion, perfect for delicate finishes on wood, primer, paint, and topcoats. This grade balances cut rate and surface quality effectively.

    Optimal 5 Inch Size

The disc measures 5 inches in diameter, fitting standard random orbital sanders. This size offers a good balance between coverage and maneuverability for detailed sanding work.

Its 5-inch dimension allows easy handling on wood, fiberglass, plastics, and painted surfaces. The size supports efficient sanding without sacrificing control or precision.

    Durable Die Format

Manufactured in the die format D/F 5HL, this disc is designed for consistent fit and performance. The die-cut shape ensures compatibility with various sanding tools and backing pads.

The die format supports secure attachment and even wear, enhancing sanding efficiency. It’s suitable for industrial and professional use, maintaining quality throughout its lifespan.

    Large Pack Count Convenience

Available in a pack of 100 discs per pack and 500 discs per case, this product supports high-volume sanding projects. Bulk packaging reduces the need for frequent reordering.

The large pack count is ideal for workshops and industrial settings where consistent supply is critical. It ensures users have enough discs on hand for extended work periods.
