3M Hookit Gold Paper Disc 216U is constructed of aluminum oxide on a light-weight paper backing and is suitable for finishing applications with a random orbital sander on wood as well as primer, paint, sealers, topcoats, fiberglass, and plastics. Open coat construction and a load-resistant coating help prevent clogging of the disc to optimize cut and prolong disc life.

Our 3M Hookit (hook-and-loop) attachment system makes disc changes fast and easy, meaning the disc can be used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life.

Sandpaper discs cut better and last longer when dust isn’t loading the cutting surface of the abrasives. Open coat construction means the abrasive grains are placed with space between them to help evacuate sanding dust and avoid clogging the cutting edge of the grains. The load-resistant coating also allows the disc to continue cutting even when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials that would, otherwise, clog the disc and hinder sanding ability. Together with the 3M Hookit backing, these features add up to increased productivity and reduced material consumption.

We chose aluminum oxide abrasive, which is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.

    Reliable 3M Hookit Model

The 3M Hookit Paper Disc 216U offers a trusted abrasive solution with the 3M brand's quality. This model features the Hookit attachment system, making disc changes quick and easy for repeated use throughout the disc's life.

Designed for efficiency, the 216U model ensures you get maximum utility from each disc. Its hook-and-loop backing supports fast swaps, reducing downtime during sanding tasks.

    Durable Aluminum Oxide Grade

This disc uses an aluminum oxide mineral, known for its durability and fast cutting ability. The P320 A-weight grade is ideal for finishing applications, providing a smooth and consistent surface.

Aluminum oxide is versatile, working well on wood, primer, paint, sealers, and plastics. Its self-fracturing nature exposes fresh edges, extending the disc's effective life.

    Optimal Size And Format

The disc measures 5 inches in diameter and features an NH (non-hole) design, suitable for various random orbital sanders. This size balances control and coverage for finishing tasks.

Its D/F 5HL die and 500FH format ensure compatibility with many sanding tools, making it a flexible choice for professionals handling different surfaces.

    Load-Resistant Coating Benefits

A load-resistant coating prevents clogging, keeping the disc cutting efficiently over time. This feature is especially useful when sanding softwoods, paints, and other materials prone to loading.

The open coat construction spaces abrasive grains to reduce dust buildup. Together, these features help maintain consistent sanding performance and extend disc life.

    Bulk Pack Convenience

This product comes in a pack of 100 discs, with 500 discs per case. Such bulk packaging supports high-volume projects and reduces the need for frequent reordering.

Having 100 discs per pack ensures you have enough supplies for extended work periods, making it a practical choice for workshops and industrial use.
