Durable film construction provides the tear resistance needed for the use of coarse grades in high-production metalworking environments, particularly where edge wear is a concern.
3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is suitable for a variety of applications. When the goal is a superior wood finish, the 375L film disc in medium grades conforms well to the contours and rounded edges of challenging work surfaces to deliver a superior finish. Woodworking applications are further enhanced by a load-resistant coating and open coat construction, which reduce clogging and extend the life of the abrasive. For pre- and post-paint finishing, versatility is key, and the 375L film disc in fine grades is designed to deliver a superb uniform finish on plastics and clear coat technologies commonly used in the transportation industry.
3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is designed for use with a random orbital sander and the 3M Hookit backup pad (sold separately). It comes in a range of grades for various applications from rough sanding to very fine finishing.
Hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs are ideal for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit discs provide optimal performance when paired with a 3M Hookit disc pad.
Film-backed discs have excellent tear-resistant properties and provide a very uniform finish and consistent results with each use. This makes them an excellent option when working on paint, e-coats, primers, gel coats, glass, acrylics and solid surface material, wood topcoats and anywhere else a perfect finish is needed.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
3M Hookit Disc Model
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is designed for easy changing and reuse, maximizing the life of each disc. This model features a durable film backing that resists tearing and ensures a consistent finish every time.
Ideal for various surfaces, the 375L disc offers excellent flexibility and tear resistance, making it suitable for high-production metalworking environments. Its hook-and-loop system allows quick attachment to backup pads.
Grade P80 Abrasive Quality
This disc comes with a P80 3MIL grade, providing an aggressive cut while maintaining a uniform finish. The premium aluminum oxide abrasive grain delivers a fast cut-rate and long life, enhancing productivity.
The P80 grade is perfect for rough sanding tasks and works well on many surfaces, including wood and metal. Its open coat construction helps prevent clogging, extending the disc’s usable life.
Six Inch Size Format
The 6 inch diameter of the 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L fits standard random orbital sanders, offering versatility for various sanding jobs. This size balances control and coverage for efficient surface preparation.
Its size is suitable for contoured surfaces and rounded edges, allowing users to achieve a superior finish on challenging workpieces. The disc’s flexibility complements its dimensions for smooth results.
Hookit System Benefits
The Hookit system provides a hook-and-loop attachment that’s easy to use and cleanly removable. This system avoids adhesive contamination and allows discs to be reused multiple times during their lifespan.
Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes compared to adhesive-backed discs, making them ideal for applications requiring precision. They work best with 3M Hookit backup pads, sold separately.
Pack Count Convenience
This product is packaged as 50 discs per carton and 250 discs per case, ensuring ample supply for large projects or continuous use. Bulk packaging supports cost efficiency and reduces frequent reordering.
Having a large pack count is beneficial for industrial or professional settings where consistent sanding performance is needed. The packaging also helps keep discs organized and protected.
