Durable film construction provides the tear resistance needed for the use of coarse grades in high-production metalworking environments, particularly where edge wear is a concern.
3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is suitable for a variety of applications. When the goal is a superior wood finish, the 375L film disc in medium grades conforms well to the contours and rounded edges of challenging work surfaces to deliver a superior finish. Woodworking applications are further enhanced by a load-resistant coating and open coat construction, which reduce clogging and extend the life of the abrasive. For pre- and post-paint finishing, versatility is key, and the 375L film disc in fine grades is designed to deliver a superb uniform finish on plastics and clear coat technologies commonly used in the transportation industry.
3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is designed for use with a random orbital sander and the 3M Hookit backup pad (sold separately). It comes in a range of grades for various applications from rough sanding to very fine finishing.
Hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs are ideal for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit discs provide optimal performance when paired with a 3M Hookit disc pad.
Film-backed discs have excellent tear-resistant properties and provide a very uniform finish and consistent results with each use. This makes them an excellent option when working on paint, e-coats, primers, gel coats, glass, acrylics and solid surface material, wood topcoats and anywhere else a perfect finish is needed.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Trusted 3M Hookit Model
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is designed for easy changing and reusing, maximizing the disc's life. This model uses a hook-and-loop system that firmly attaches to backup pads, making it convenient for repeated use.
Its hook-and-loop format is ideal for dusty or dirty workspaces where adhesive discs might fail. The 375L model is known for leaving finer finishes compared to adhesive-backed discs, making it a reliable choice for professionals.
Precise P1500 Grade Finish
The P1500 grade of the 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L offers a fine abrasive level suitable for finishing tasks. This grade helps deliver a uniform and consistent finish on various surfaces, including plastics and clear coats.
Using the P1500 grade disc ensures excellent results on contoured surfaces, making it perfect for detailed work in automotive and woodworking applications. It balances cut rate and finish quality effectively.
Optimal 5 Inch Size
Measuring 5 inches in diameter, the 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L fits standard random orbital sanders. This size offers a good balance between surface coverage and maneuverability for detailed sanding tasks.
The 5-inch dimension is compatible with 3M Hookit backup pads, allowing users to achieve consistent sanding performance. It’s well-suited for both rough sanding and fine finishing jobs.
Efficient Die 500X Format
The Die 500X format of the 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L refers to the specific hole pattern designed for dust extraction. This feature helps reduce clogging and extends the disc’s life by keeping the abrasive surface cleaner.
With this die pattern, users experience less dust buildup during sanding, which improves cutting efficiency. It’s especially useful in high-production environments where dust control is critical.
Convenient 50 Per Carton
Each carton contains 50 discs of the 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L, providing ample supply for extended projects. This pack size supports continuous work without frequent reordering.
The 50-disc carton is part of a larger case containing 250 discs, ideal for workshops or industrial settings. Having this quantity on hand ensures consistent availability for various sanding needs.
