Durable film construction provides the tear resistance needed for the use of coarse grades in high-production metalworking environments, particularly where edge wear is a concern.
3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is suitable for a variety of applications. When the goal is a superior wood finish, the 375L film disc in medium grades conforms well to the contours and rounded edges of challenging work surfaces to deliver a superior finish. Woodworking applications are further enhanced by a load-resistant coating and open coat construction, which reduce clogging and extend the life of the abrasive. For pre- and post-paint finishing, versatility is key, and the 375L film disc in fine grades is designed to deliver a superb uniform finish on plastics and clear coat technologies commonly used in the transportation industry.
3M Hookit Film Disc 375L is designed for use with a random orbital sander and the 3M Hookit backup pad (sold separately). It comes in a range of grades for various applications from rough sanding to very fine finishing.
Hook-and-loop style 3M Hookit discs are ideal for work spaces where adhesive backed discs may become contaminated by dust, dirt, or flying debris. They are often used in applications where a 3M Stikit disc may be too aggressive, as Hookit discs tend to leave finer finishes than adhesive backed discs. Hookit sanding discs conveniently and firmly attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately) on a random orbital sander, can be removed cleanly and easily, and can be re-used again and again for the extent of the abrasive life. Hookit discs provide optimal performance when paired with a 3M Hookit disc pad.
Film-backed discs have excellent tear-resistant properties and provide a very uniform finish and consistent results with each use. This makes them an excellent option when working on paint, e-coats, primers, gel coats, glass, acrylics and solid surface material, wood topcoats and anywhere else a perfect finish is needed.
Aluminum oxide is a popular choice among industrial professionals because of its fast cut-rate and long life. This mineral makes a tough, durable abrasive that self-fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, whereas traditional natural abrasives dull more quickly. Due to its fast cut-rate, hardness, and strength, it is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing applications. Aluminum oxide is suitable for a wide variety of materials in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys.
Trusted 3M Hookit Model
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L offers reliable performance with the trusted 3M brand. This model features a hook-and-loop system that makes changing discs quick and easy, maximizing the disc’s life. The 375L model is designed for consistent results on various surfaces.
Its hook-and-loop attachment fits securely on backup pads, allowing for clean removal and reuse. This system is ideal for workspaces where adhesive discs might get contaminated, ensuring a finer finish than adhesive-backed options.
Precise Grade And Backing
This product comes in a P150 grade with a 3MIL film backing, providing a balance between cutting speed and finish quality. The durable film backing is tear-resistant, which helps maintain a uniform, consistent finish throughout the sanding process.
The film backing also supports the disc’s flexibility, making it excellent for sanding contoured surfaces. This grade and backing combination is suitable for both rough sanding and fine finishing tasks.
Optimal Size And Format
The disc measures 5 inches in diameter and features a NH die shape, making it compatible with a variety of sanding tools. This size is common for random orbital sanders, allowing for efficient coverage and control during use.
The hook-and-loop format ensures the disc attaches firmly to compatible backup pads, enhancing ease of use. This format also supports quick changes and reuse, which is practical for high-production environments.
Efficient Pack Count Options
The product is available in packs of 50 discs per carton and 250 discs per case, providing flexibility for different usage needs. These pack sizes help ensure users have enough discs for extended projects or multiple jobs without frequent reordering.
Having a large pack count is especially useful in industrial or professional settings where consistent sanding quality and disc availability are critical. It also helps reduce downtime caused by changing discs.
Durable Abrasive Performance
The 3M Hookit Film Disc 375L uses premium aluminum oxide abrasive, known for its fast cutting ability and long life. This abrasive performs well on many surfaces, including wood, metal, and plastics, making it versatile for various applications.
Its open coat construction reduces clogging by dust and debris, extending the disc’s effective life. This load-resistant coating ensures the disc maintains performance even in demanding sanding conditions.
